Cheap(est) lease deal or banger
I am currently looking for the cheapest lease deal possible (£80 or less) or I am considering buying a banger.
I live very close to my work which is only 3 miles away and only using the car for random runarounds and small trips and maybe a monthly long trip.
Is it generally more worthwhile in my situation to therefore buy an old banger? The lease deals I have found are typically quite pricey once they're added up with initial deposit. I'm more tempted to go for a banger and run it into the ground for 12-18 months and then move on to another one.
Any thoughts?

Taxis?
You'll get a lot more car for your money with an older car than a new one Does your £80 (a month?) also include insurance?0 -
You’ll be able to get a cracker of a car for £500-1000. As you don’t do much distance mpg won’t be a concern so a nice big luxo barge will be peanuts.

Below 3000 miles a year a taxi becomes a cheaper option.
6 miles a day, 47 weeks a year and you're at 1380 miles travel to work. Where I live that would cost you around £2000 a year in taxi fares assuming you didn't share one. By the time you factor in insurance, tax, MOT, repairs and depreciation then it is likely to exceed that £2000.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Three mile commute? Cycle to work, and £80 a month will buy you plenty of taxi rides for the other things.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
