I hadn’t - looking at T&Cs it says you cannot top up an egift card but can transfer any outstanding balance to a new giftcard at participating C0sta.

I am not sure how that would work as you cannot add a balance to an existing card?

I've had the same with costa, twice. Both £9. I thought maybe credit got added more than once somehow but not had any with £6. Shame you can't do a balance check online - just a matter of finding out in store. Very odd with the expiry dates on these - older ones have longer expiry dates on them.
