Hi all, glad you're having success with the GWR points. I didn't realise at the time I originally posted that nobody had mentioned it before.

I'm having a nightmare booking myself though. It keeps coming up with 'oops an error has occurred' when trying to select a child ticket. How have you managed to book just a child ticket? Any help greatly appreciated.

The biggest problem I had was logging in via my iPad so I had to do it on my phone. I just took 1 adult out and changed the child to 1 without any problem

I am having that issue :( - I have tried logging out and back in as suggested by TM but to no avail - I should have booked earlier :o. The email says I have until 29/11 to book. I would think it best to book as soon as possible to get it tracking and paid - no real value to book ages into the future.

If it doesn't work, the cheapest adult ticket so far seems to be £2.50 for Reading/Tilehurst (as an example - Windsor/Slough also possible - busy trying combinations from http://www.projectmapping.co.uk/Reviews/Resources/GWR%20MAP%20December%202015.pdf).

When you click through the email link it doesn't let you book for children....BUT... if you click through the email link and then click "buy tickets" at the top of the screen that loads it will let you book children.

That said, i did this yesterday and have no email today about the 2k points being awarded

ETA: I just realised, when I bought my tickets I opted out of marketing emails, that's probably why I've not had an email. T&Cs don't say you have to stay opted in to receive the points

Thanks everyone. I did what AAU1 suggested and it's let me book a child's ticket. I've literally spent most of the evening trying to book this ticket. I hope my DD enjoys her train ride :rotfl: I better get the points after all this hard work!

  • Evening Guys, last time i did the train journey, or my child did, i didnt work, so can i ask, registered hubbys email and put nectar card details in, waited for the welcome email to come through. So i have booked a journey and its costing £1.05, or do i need to spend a bit more to get the points? Have i done it right? Thanks :)
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)
