But it would have come to £13.xx before and if this happened to me when i had them i just always said please try as its on original amount,
I have never used shop and scan

What a pickle! I've never had that happen to me before. For my last £2 off wys £10 I did very similar to you and bought 2 mags, 1 coffee, 1 paper, and then Benecol yoghurt for Shopmium to take the total to £10.75 before all the freebies comes off. I've never had a till assistant refuse to take the coupon. Did they scan it at all, or did they just refuse to take it? You might have just got unlucky with a member of staff who didn't know what to do.
