Is there an easy way to see if a phone has NFC (whatever that is?) please?
    Yes. There is
  • Sorry, couldn't resist it.

    Download from Play store this
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.promethylhosting.nfc.test&hl=en

Use a card that has nfc and scan phone over it, it will make a noise if it is working. I used it today.

NFC, Near Field Communication, can also be used to pass things between phones that have it just by touch.
  • Evening everyone
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Weight loss 3 stone :D

    Credit card fraud:

    Card stopped.

    Fraudster phones credit card company;
CCC: let me take you through security. Mother's maiden name?

    Fraudster hangs up. Does research.

    F: gives mothers maiden name!

Managed to persuade my sister to sign up for android pay and she used it first time this morning , when getting the tube to work. She just got a draw. Shes not impressed lol. Told her about using it up to 10 times a day, getting small items. She cant be bothered :(
    No helping some people:eek:
Many thanks for all your good wishes to Sal which she really appreciates. She’s been passing on her knowledge to me and sending me off to Asda with her shopping list! I park on the far side of the car park to get some daily exercise in too! She can’t get out at all now, but follows this thread and is still as “savvy” as ever.
Give her a hug from me pleasex glad she is teaching you well xx

long term lurker checking in, so sorry for the losses, be comforted by your memories .
I have really fallen off the wagon as dont seem to do any of the apps and things on here - never mind.
I have just been confirmed as having shingles so I'm grounded but the worrying thing is that it is hurting my rib so badly, like a massive stitch. Doc says its the nerves there, they are being damaged by the virus grrr .
Hubby is having a second op next week so its all fun here and work is "reviewing" me - don't like the sound of that either.
Never mind, hope you all keep posting, just so me and my fellow lurkers have a little sunshine during the day - take care xxxxxx
Wendy, nice to see you xx
    Good luck to hubby x
