Ew we have just been reported to missing education dept for our dd being on holiday the first three days of school. Is it £60 per parent per day or do you get a warning letter first? The holiday was like £400 cheaper but going home later! Any advice appreciated. Having said that I did recoup from ryanair £444 for a delayed flight for two of us.0

Good evening Elite.
Hoping everyone is warm, happy and well. And not blown into someone else's garden - been a bit breezy here today! Hugs to those in need.
I'm all for a bit of frocking next month. Even if only to avoid going into shops that already have selection boxes and chocolate Santas on the shelves!
The wind has just dropped here.
How wild has it been today? I saw a Portaloo blown off a wagon today:eek: Chaos ensued but it didn't look as if anyone was hurtTo do is to be. Rousseau

I'm sure my store ALWAYS sells stuff, it's just I can never find it:rotfl:
Could be with the cereals or the biscuits or the breakfast bars. Even next to the meal deals

I have a posh "do" to go to in April. It requires an evening dress, I have one but it has seen better days.
I have been searching high and low and seriously cannot find one I like and that likes me.
I know I am thinking a long way ahead, but I have come to the conclusion that I will need to make one, which would not be a problem if I had access to a decent haberdashers. The only one in town is Cutting Edge Fabrics, they do not have a good stock of dress fabrics.
I need something along the line of taffeta, something fairly crisp and shiny.
I have been looking online and they all charge around £3 to send out samples, I need to be able to see the colour and finish before I make it, and definitely the colour before I even think about which way to go.
So, is there anyone on here that has dealt with an online fabric shop, really do not know where to start. The last time I made a dress there was a haberdashers in the next town so we went there, that has gone now.
My other option is to go to another town and hope that there is a decent haberdashers in John Lewis or a larger House of Fraser (opposite directions), or possibly a Debenhams?
I can only say I am glad I have given myself lots of time.
Helllllppppppp meeeeeeeee!
I wouldn't know where to start.....except I would probably go for the John Lewis option. It would be so frustrating to make a decision based on a tiny sample. You need to know how it will hang.To do is to be. Rousseau
