    Afternoon all!

Today marks the start of two weeks of annual leave :j I'm looking forward to a combination of relaxing, getting some jobs done so the house is more winter-ready and hopefully a few days out or away somewhere. After the year we've had, it's definitely needed :o

On that note - if anyone has any recommendations for things to do in Edinburgh or day trips to do whilst there, please let me know as we're thinking about going there for a few nights for our anniversary next week :T

    .

When we were in Edinburgh last we got the train out to the red bridge and got the little ferry that takes you under the bridge and down the forth - there was a Livingsocial deal on at the time and it comes up quite often. I think there is also a bus that you can get out of Edinburgh so you pay the one fare - bus and ferry.
Very scenic - the bridge is fabulous. They also cut the engine so you go past the grey seals hauled up and you get very close to them. You can also get out at the island but you pay extra for this - good for picnics - then you catch the next ferry

Sorry to hear about your mum, tweets, but dementia may well explain some of the things she's doing, including trying to walk unaided as she may not remember that she shouldn't. The seeing things in her room and suspecting people of doing things is exactly what my grandma was doing (she thought the nurses were secretly trying to get her :()

Having said that, some of her worst symptoms were actually due to an untreated UTI, which is incredibly common in older ladies unfortunately and easily overlooked if dementia is suspected, so it might be worth your mum getting that checked, particularly if she is already having trouble in that area and she's sitting down a lot.

Its awful especially when mum asks why I don't believe her I tell her they cant be moving her stuff and taking it they would be sacked. They keep checking her urine and so far its come back no infection clear.

Hi tweets, sorry things are bad for mum, I would ask them ,insist actually, that she has a urine test for a UTI, her behaviour could all be down to that and if it is a course of antibiotics would solve it :)

They keep checking her urine and its clear .

Does she like cranberry juice. That should take care of any bugs that the test missed. Use to always offer it to my mum . Its nice half half with orange juice.
