3rd october, then 28 days to spend
if they have invested so much in lowering prices, why get rid of the apg? as surely lowering prices would lower any returns on an apg.

I have a confession to make......
I'm secretly pleased it's all coming to an end:o:)
It's been a blast but, like others, I'm looking forward to normality.
I only hope our wonderful thread will survive. It's been so quiet of late but I hope people will still come on and post their bargains and finds. It's a special place:smileyhea:smileyheaTo do is to be. Rousseau

And there I was thinking I was doing the list and no-one ever looking at it these days:rotfl:. Do people still look at the list?
You are correct about no longer needing to do the M lists (if I ever needed to do them anyway as it is/was a voluntary thing). In fact now would be a good time, after the update of information from today (which of course will take 'ages':rotfl:), to stop as doing the lists has been becoming increasingly difficult of late, for a number of other reasons. I don't think I will be going to M just to put everything on "buy in M". I might post the odd RTC item if I see it, but now I think it will be a case of going to M and just buying what you see if it is any good.
I've done what might have been the last collection today. For various reasons, I can't spend extended time at my first store of a day now so I thought today might be very difficult and a very busy day, particularly as I'm having to start from a store with a charged car park and therefore parking away and having a 10 minute walk to and from the store, cutting the time I spend down by a further 20 minutes or so - every minute does count as I thought this changeover was going to take up the full time and perhaps even see me running out of time:eek:. However, M have helped me as, while nearly all the offers seem to be off, it doesn't seem that many extra items have been put onto offers (apart from a section of Santa Maria products), so I ended up finishing early and managed to squeeze in an extra store. (Maybe I was organised because I saw quite a lot was due to end and therefore extracted out of my list a list of them in the order in which I see them in the store, and walking through the store, seeing items and crossing them out isn't a lot more than just walking through the store and seeing items and making no changes - I also didn't miss much to have to go back and look for, because, it seems, I had got that list prepared in advance.)
With the APG ending and no wombles, I think I will not often be shopping at A in future as they are not my nearest store and there seems little point - I may stop there, for an occasional item whilst in the area, if they happen to be the cheapest. Of course it will cost everyone not having wombles but I will probably save more money by not travelling out to M:rotfl:. Like others I have been shopping mainly at Aldi and Lidl recently, due to there being few glitches and the prices at A steep even when compared against competitors. The trouble is competitors have often been cheaper of late on non-comparable items. I think I will end up shopping mainly at Aldi, Lidl and M. Most of my comparison shops on the APG have been against M because M seem to have the best offers on and I will probably end up shopping at M (just my two local Ms - one either way - won't be travelling out to further stores).
T seem to have had long periods of having only one item on good offer recently, rather than many items on low sub £1 offer prices that we used to see, making it impossible to get eight items to compare from A as virtually nothing is on good T offer - I have ended up putting 'value' items in my (now rare) shopping versus T but even then T seem to have been discontinuing those items and switching to a non-comparable range:(. Surprise surprise, during this period where I found only one good item for an APG shop against T (maybe we have had prices too good in the past as now everything else seems expensive, maybe we are just being too savvy nowadays), T announced that they were making more profits, so clearly that was what was working for them. I think the key must to be to shop at any place that announces it is struggling, as if they are making money something must be wrong from our point of view:rotfl:.
I have an S at the other end of my road, but won't be shopping there as I think it is the most expensive place, so will probably be able to do the exercise that I should be doing and walk a short distance to the my nearest other supermarket, which is T:eek::rotfl:.
With all the offers ending in M yesterday, today seemed to be a good time to see what has ended (which seems to be nearly all of what was expected to end) and get details of the brand new offers that can then just remain on a final list. However, I might now continue for a couple of weeks or so and then end. It's been getting more difficult of late, as people will probably have noticed, and with my tardy updating (although I am currently bang up-to-date prior to today) - I have been going to out to M (when I can bring myself to do so:rotfl:) and finding it rather easy to get the details instore but then ending with a whole load of information that, with the ever expanding list (and my refusal to delete virtually everything that isn't an expired offer, just in case it might still be available somewhere), I have found myself lacking the motivation to do it for a few days, until finally I start and don't stop although it has been getting increasingly tiresome.
It's the updating of numerous items that has been the aspect increasingly more wanting not to do - and I haven't been posting much (as in brand new posts elsewhere) as not got the time or wherewithal to do that along with the updating: I've thought of posts, that I could post, but never written them such as, a couple of weeks ago - this seems now to be expired - me finding numerous kitchen items on offers/RTCs and thinking, when finding further I hadn't got at other stores some weeks in, "just how many items does M have?!?" - seems to be absolute loads and lots of them got onto the list (piecemeal over weeks no doubt with my incomplete stores:rotfl:- still think I never found everything) so I hope people were looking at the list, even though it was unadvertised, and seeing them - but it seems that, on Monday, many of them seem to have gone back to full price so are off now. There may be old ranges that are on clearance - I think I have two products, looking to be the same name, today but different BCs and it seems an older version is still on clearance but most stores probably have replaced it with the newer version as their shelves are now a new range (no good:rotfl:).
There are Gardening Reductions still on it seems (I keep finding further items I'm sure:rotfl: - most likely been in M for weeks but only appearing in one of my visited stores for me now). Meanwhile, in A today, I notice they seem to be having a sale on a range of light bulbs, including single bulbs starting from 75p (unless it is just my store). They include halogen bulbs that I think are no longer able to be produced for sale because of energy saving rules, so they are clearing out the old stock. Some bulbs are at higher prices, but some are, according to the SELs in my A, at 75p, which is better than M's apparent prices of £1, and includes some Halogen bulbs - not sure if other bulbs were also on 75p as I don't generally collect instore details in A.
This may be my last M collection or there may be two or three (or bit more) more - will probably miss out some days - and might go out with a big collection on 26th September, not sure, better update it by 3rd October:rotfl:.
EDIT: Actually 26th September is a stupid date, that doesn't fit in with my other commitments:(, so (shall I miss out next week? and) I may bring it forward and do a final 'big' one on 19th September. M had better put those exotic non-comparable items that I don't have in my nearby stores onto offer - been waiting months and offers that used to come around every few months have not done so - hope they do so by 19th and still have them on offer then so I can get one of my favourite items as not visiting that store again in future.0 -
