  • Morning all!

We're off to Scotland to go camping for two weeks later today :-). Well, we've got to work today but then we're driving up to Warrington to stay in a Premier Inn, tonight, then driving the rest of the way tomorrow. It's a long drive from Devon!

The car is absolutely rammed despite the fact there's only two of us. It doesn't help that we've packed THREE tents. We bought a massive Outwell tent from Gumtree secondhand a couple of weeks ago. Our garden isn't big enough to put it up so although we're fairly sure everything is there, we haven't actually seen it up. So we're taking our old, worn out tent just in case. Then we're also planning on spending a couple of nights in bothies (old, stone buildings in the middle of nowhere with no running water, electricity, toilets etc) so we want to take our tiny backpacking tent just in case we turn up to a bothy and it's already full. :o

I've got an APG to use up from the UHT milk so I need to swing by A's on the way to Scotland. I was thinking of buying some wine so hopefully I'll be able to slot a few bottles around our tent collection. I just need to work out which ones work vs which shop and write myself a proper list.

I've also filled a huge plastic box full of tins and packets which I've got from glitches or cashback etc. We won't have to buy any food at all for the 2 weeks that we're camping if we don't want to, but it still doesn't seem to have dented our stocks much.

Have a fabulous time freewheeling, give us a wave as you pass.

I'll be interested in hearing about where you stay. I'm trying to convince dh that next year we should visit all the Scottish islands they are the only place left in the world that I would like to visit.

    Have a great time.

Juat need someone with a teskies current account to but a fivers worth to see if they do indeed get the points. I would try it but I dont want the search on my credit score to open an account. Zippy is home soon, I am sure he has a teskies CC, and will get a fivers worth. Could be very lucrative with an Elite mindset. (I am sure one of the lurkers will have tried it after I posted it, so be nice if they reported back. ) I recon a grand a month could be do-able. (He lives in hope!)

I think you have to buy minimum £100 of premium bonds at any one time unless you have a direct debit set up

Sorry to hear it, hope nectar will replace your points!
how can it go into negative balance though? is it because they were done on the same day i.e. balance doesn't automatically update when you spend points?
    horrible people

My nectar account has been fraudulently cleaned out, twice over leaving a huge negative balance. Almost £150 worth of points spent twice in one day in a Sainsbury’s and an Argos store in two different towns I have never been to, and whilst my card is still safe in my purse.

I have read of this happening to people before so hopefully nectar will get to the bottom of it and replace my points.

    Thank you!

This time we're going to the Galloway National Park, so not too far over the border. I've never been there and it looks lovely and peaceful. We love long walks and mountain biking and it looks great for that.

I've been to Skye, Lewis and South Uist before. The outer hebrides are absolutely stunning. I remember the most fantastic white sandy beaches on Lewis. Skye especially has some fabulous mountains. When I went to South Uist it was in May and I was blessed with sun almost every day. I was actually working whilst I was there but because it got dark so late I could go for long walks after work. When I went to Lewis it was a lot gloomier and very brooding. The wind didn't seem to ever stop blowing. It's beautiful in a bleak kind of way though.

As for the midgies...I actually phoned up the campsite that we've booked to ask them how bad the midges are at the moment! They told me that the dry, warm June this year disrupted their breeding so they don't have any! It'll be amazing if that's true. If not, somebody has lent us some very fetching midge net hats so we'll be the coolest kids there. ;)

    Good morning.

Just received the CoS bank holiday rewards email - very disappointing. They seem to have lost their way over the summer with fewer freebies :(.

Hopefully they will return to their generous ways.

That is scary, sorry to hear that. I am still sitting on over £500 worth so would be mortified if they were taken.

Hopefully they will be replaced quickly.
