  • From reading it, it seems to be active from noon today until midnight tomorrow, so maybe tomorrow morning will work. Slurp.

CCGs obviously don't want to pay if they don't have to, but social worker will try their hardest to secure this for you mum as health funding saves Social Care ie your council money.

Info is available on internet - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support/nhs-continuing-care/ and if your google 'NHS continuing healthcare' there are also other advice sites.

You may be best to contact your local carer's association who will have advice available specific to your area.

Emailed the Social Worker to say we have had not had time to look at the care homes offered as her health had deteriorated and we need to be at hospital. Then called the home where Dad in law died and found out they so take the local authority contract and although they dont have any vacancies at present their sister home is on the list the social worker gave us so at worst she could go there and then transfer nearer when a bed comes up. Also told social worker we want notice of the assesment when its is arranged so we can attend. Will spend this evening looking in more detail at the criteria for continuous care. Many thanks for the links
  • I've had a call from Majestic Wine to say that my order is ready to collect, so it looks like I ordered it just in time.

I went to Hotel Choccy for an ice cream today, I'm suprised I haven't been barred yet.....they don't have that many different staff members in there. :o

Did my airport run via Waities, only 6 bags of the coffee on the shelf so had to do a bit of recalculating! Picked up sausages and raspberries that were RTC'd, some milk and of course the paper and coffee. Till total came to £30.43 cash to pay £14.03 Value of 'goods' £34.93:j

Enjoyed a read of the paper with my coffee in peace in the carpark while waiting for the text to say friends had picked up their luggage. 4 mins back to airport - everybody happy!

Think I'll offer my services more often - during shop opening hours only!
