    Pay £4.50. Apg £1.51 + CoS £2.25 = £3.76 back.

Good morning. Had we noticed that H4lifax Reward are dropping their rate to £2 from October .

It seems as interest rates are likely to be going up major banks have gone the other way - if you recall it was the threat of a rate DROP a while ago that prompted some to start dropping their rates (a drop that never materialised - and they didn't then put up savings rates when it went up 0.25% but did lending rates).

I think the time is getting very close to dropping some of these accounts and consolidating.

If there is a rise today can we look forward to a quick increase? I won't hold my breath ...

Well we've had a rise :j, but not holding my breathe either!
Think i'll swap the hali one to M&S which must be the only one I don't have! but after that I will probably consolidate too. It's a headache at times ensuring I have sufficient DDs from each account, I buy things on line using various credit cards on a rota basis to ensure the there is a DD payment each month.

I retired 2 years ago yesterday:j:j which means I have 7 regular savings and 2 fixed term savings accounts to sort out:mad:

Also need to write it all down for DH and DS, just in case!

but is real, oh so real

but there are others who have a lot more to contend with than we do,

that's why i now have my friend primrose :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: escapism, im level headed really, and usually shy and reserved until i know you, and with all the running around i do you'd think id be a stick insect but no im more like the Michelin (wo)man..

off for a cup of coffee anyone care to join me..?

Only if there is a cake or biscuit with it! I'm michelin shaped too!

Oh Hilly, very true true that others have more to contend with, but I think you've had your fair share for a while! So pleased that you can laugh about it, I think that's what gets us through!

    Can you breathe now?

2 years ago DS rang me on a Sunday morning and asked if he could come and stay the next night, I said yes, of course, but why?

Well they were going ti Spain the following Saturday and had just realised that DGD1's passport was out of date and he needed to do a personal application (at Durham). He duly did this, not realising that as the passport was for his child they would not issue there and then , but would post it, which could take up to 7 working days:eek:

The lady processing this said you will probably have this in time, but no guarantees!

They were booked with BA (using points accrued from work) so could cancel some or all of the flights with 24 hours notice, many many what ifs, but the passport turned up on the |Thursday morning.
