Thanks for poking your tongue out to WMC, I hadn't got round to it.
Paranoia with a capital P is definitely me. :rotfl:
It takes ages to get him to be nice and then he just lets himself down in one fell swoop :rotfl:

Might be worth checking the shelves in A for tinned toms too. They were cheap too but none left:o
I got the chicken bits but I have not used them yet and I am dithering ... possibly I might just put them on Olio ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I feel a list coming on for those of us that do not have this offer.
oo good I like a list, put me on it!“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Nationwide simply rewards - everyone has different offers but on mine it has
Co-op
10% back on your next purchase of £5 or more - maximum £30 - might be useful if you are buying the meal deal or you find the elusive COS freebie bottles
Bella italia
save 10% on £30 spends - might apply to gift card purchases possibly? - should work fine with the 40% off mains offer
Caf! rouge
save 20% on £30 spends
also check First Direct rewards
Quidco High street - Make sure you have all of your cards registered and your offers activated on
Thanks mhoc, I've go the coop offer but I shopped there yesterday. Checked and offer wasn't activated until today so I might just have to get the meal deal again.0 -
From Waitrose - the nice man in Waitrose said it was due in the autumn but he said he wasn't sure so it looks like they have brought it forward
We have one set of cups for one car but not for the other - really could do with 2 sets. Its going to take time to retrain ourselves like with the reusuable bags
I still am not sure how they are going to police this. Normally we take the shopping to the car and then come back into store to do the coffees, our cups in our hands. Our store has a little seating area outside
But you could quite easily just walk into store with your reusuable cup and not even make a purchase - I cant see them having a member of staff at the coffee machines checking everyones for a receipt
"As you may remember we wrote to you recently about our plans to remove takeaway coffee cups from all our stores. This is part of our commitment to reduce the amount of plastic and packaging we use.
It’s worth the effort. Making this change will prevent the use of 52 million takeaway cups a year and help protect the environment.
We’ve already made good progress and removed disposable cups from 18 stores. And now we want to let you know that from Monday 30 July, takeaway cups will be progressively removed from the large proportion of our remaining shops (excluding little Waitrose at Shell). This will affect stores in your area.
We’re still delighted to offer you a free hot drink whenever you shop with us. All we ask is that you bring in your own reusable cup and swipe your myWaitrose card at the checkout, each time you visit.
Best wishes,
The myWaitrose team
Our staff do check now and again and ask to see receipts.
It would sometimes be easier if you could get the coffee on the way in, as I wouldn't get a free coffee without buying anyway. Staff in my store can be really eager to switch the machines off an hour before closing and I have on occasion missed my coffee, when arriving just before 8 due to work, as they have switched off by the time I have shopped and gone to collect it.

Does it refund to your account for these offers, so only useful if you are actually paying £30 etc with your NWide card?
Many thanks

Mr TM has vinegar on just about everything:eek:
So while we were away I decided to treat myself to a new vinegar bottle to keep out on the shelf.
I used it yesterday and although I didn't look too closely, there were bits in it which I thought were that mother of vinegar stuff......you know....that stuff aau's always harping on about:rotfl:
Anyway I went to use it today and it's full of flies floating around in the vinegar_pale__pale__pale_
Wait until I tell him:rotfl:
Where did you buy it? I'll look out for the fb complaint :rotfl:Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

My stance is that there are cameras everywhere so I wouldn't ever just chance getting a coffee without paying for something and having a receipt - not for the sake of getting a banana.
Possibly our store will get more vigilant after this week but it seems to be very short staffed, never anyone on the shop floor. I always got to the CS desk if I need to find an elusive item.
We have our coffee sat outside on the picnic benches and people watch - our store is in the middle of a small town so its like a corner shop with people milling in and out and people do use it as a loo stop - we held a lads bike the other week whilst he nipped in
It has made us wonder though if some people are reusing their previous cups from a previous visit. Apart from filling up the milk no-one ever bothers with the coffee machine.
We actually have 2 machines - the second being by the bakery so I imagine the girls that dish out coffee there would ask for receipts“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Yes its an automatic refund back onto your card like the amex offers.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
