    Good afternoon my Elite friends
It's been so long I had problems finding you !
I hope you are all well and just read a few lines back to see T is finishing its brand thingy :( , it made me think of the 1p, 2p days and the fun we had ;)
I have a favour to ask....does anyone know about trains in Glasgow as I am arriving at the airport in the morning but would like to have a mooch about before going to Prestwick for my early evening flight.
We would like to have cheapy food so a Wetherspoon type place would be good too, and what type of train ticket should I get ?? Sorry for all the questions but went on Tripadvisor and it didn't cover this but know we have a coven up there so beg of your help.
Hope other awols are well too, kisses to all W xx

Hiya, I don't really know what you mean by what type of ticket you should get but I do know that if you show your boarding passes you get your tickets half price. There and back.
Prestwick is a small airport and that is where I prefer to fly from if possible, you get through security in no time at all as there are usually just one or two flight leaving at the same time so no rush to be there for a long time in advance.

Having read this again, do you mean you are flying into Glasgow airport first and need to get to Prestwick airport?
If so there is a shuttle bus which takes you into Paisley and right outside the train station there is a massive Weatherspoons, train from Paisley to Prestwick takes roughly 40mins and still half price ticket fare from there.

    Afternoon Everyone,

Don't know if anyone can help but we have always had Badgers in our garden and they haven't caused a problem until yesterday!
They have dug several holes in our garden and in our veg patch they dug up most of our carrots and then pooed there. I don't want to cause them any harm but I also don't want to loose more veg. Any idea"s?

Hugs to all that need them

We have never had badgers and we didn't even think they were in the fields behind us but apparently this is the time of the year the young males get ousted and sent on their way

One of them ended up digging a vast chasm in one of our flower beds. We thought originally it was after the small rodents that live under the bird table but then we noticed lots of little white bumed bumble bees in and around the hole - apparently they use old mice holes to build nest chambers.
I think the bees were still around for about a week afterwards so we have not dealt with the hole yet, incase any bees are still around.

I followed T delivery van today advertising the brand guarantee on the back.
Wonder when they are going to resticker all their vans?
Pleased I got the men's doves for shoppimam yesterday. that will be the last bg:mad:

I notice that a lot of the customer service signs don't advertise double the difference anymore either, that will go soon too I think.

Do the blighters not know I only took early retirement to avail myself of these deals ??

You could well be right - but is just possible that Asda may get some good publicity out of it by milking the idea that only Asda have the confidence to stick with their promise of being the cheapest. I hope so - the idea of having to pay full price for my shopping is a nightmare !

You could well be right, I hope so.

I was going to ask this, if the home encourages relatives to come in with their dogs?
In the home where my Dad was they actively encouraged everyone to bring dogs in, all the faces lite up when dogs arrived ready to give everyone a love :)
They also had a donkey visiting once, he did a walk around with his owner and got blank stares but on the 2nd walk around everyone was much jollier as they petted the donkey. I filmed it on my ipad, my Dad looking his old self :)
Our village care home has a peacock that lives next door, but he is well at home in their grounds and all the residents love him..

Recently though he has been wandering the village, the consensus of opinion was that he was after a mate. He made local TV news and a mate has been found for him, he is Trevour and she is Gladys!

We also have a local group that takes chickens/hens into homes for people to pet. That seems very successful too.

The one that didn't work was a home I worked with for people with disabilities they brought in a mobile 'zoo' and their residents were given to hold, amongst other things, snakes and beetles. They hadn't really risk assessed this correctly given one of their residents had Prada Willi Syndrome (people who have this often eat anything and everything!).

Yes you guess, this gentleman tried to eat the crickets and the beetles!

Well what a time I had doing the investigation into that... :rotfl:

Lesson for today - always triple check bank details when processing online transfers. I wasn't paying attention and gave myself a real fright sending quite a sum across - only to find it hadn't gone to the intended account .
Forunately when I have traced the number it has gone into the ISA, but could very easily have gone to a closed account :o. It wouldn't be so bad but it did ask for confirmation and you had to put in a code to confirm, so I am stupid :(

I am thinking of working through bank accounts and dropping some - all the BOS have dropped to 1.5% now (same as SAN), what were the other recent changes please, as I have lost track?

It may be time to close some down and consolidate in a smaller number of places - it seems daft paying £5 a month to San to get 1.5% if I can get more without paying the fee. I see At0m have a 6 month fix at 1.79% or 12 month fix at 2.05% if you don't need access for a few months, and that beats San and BOS with no hassle.

UPDATE - San downgraded to Every Day (would have closed but decided to keep as a donor account if required in future) - it took 10/15 minutes on the phone. Make sure you have your account statement in front of you as they have loads of questions about payments in/out and when - it is a pain as you cannot simply downgrade online, but could upgrade  stupid systems! Why waste their agent's time for an account with no fee?

    What are Elite recommending please?

    Many thanks

I'm thinking the same, consolidate! which could reduce the number of DD I need, and looking for recommendations too.
I'm an atom fan, have one finishing soon so will re-invest.

It is the time of year when most of my linked regular savers accounts reach maturity and I will need to make decisions:o
Re San, think I'll keep that as the 'cashback' covers the fee and gives about £1 extra.
