I have had one since they first came out.

EON offered me £50 to have one :money:

When you first have one you are obsessed with checking it and soon find out with electric which appliances make it run faster. Electric fire is top one in my house.

I would recommend them but that's just my view :)

Morning tweets and hope you're okay?

Glad you like the smart meter we installed. I know what you mean about checking the display all the time. I used to do the same thing. As you found, they're good at recognising what's gobbling up electricity. Electric fires are particularly greedy.

We've been working on the technology behind these pieces of kit and will soon be able to do remote updates to many existing meters so customers can change supplier without losing smart features. This has been a problem in the past as you can see from many of the posts on the Energy Board. It depends on when the meter was installed.

Not that we want to lose you tweets. Far from it but thought you might like to know. :)

    Have a good day.

We are with Eon as well. A chap came around and asked if we were interested in a smart metre so I said come with me and I will show you the problem.

We still have the old metre board over the kitchen door, must be nearly 20 years old but its the most ugly horrible construction ever - the Eon chap said straight away there just wasn't room for the new smart metre.

I asked again about the possibilities of getting a neat white box outside but again it would involve paying an electrician to be there at the exact same time as a meter man was there to change the metre - costing us hundreds so its never going to happen ...

    Morning all

I see the glitch fairy is doing her work now I am back :D Thank you to WN and Izzey for the finds :) I am presently yogurtless

Any ebay experts on here (silly question :rotfl: )

I purchased a new battery for my OH Portable oxygen Concetrator. Cost £380 and came sealed. He finally tried it when we were on our recent hols and it wasnt holding the charge. He would charge it up to 100%, then when going to use it, it showed only 50% charge. Could have really affected him if he didnt have the other batteries. Lucky he had 3 more batteries which we purchased elsewhere, and was always near a plug socket so didnt have to depend on that battery. Wish he had tried it out before we went.
Anyway, do you think I should complain to the seller as it was sold as new and came sealed and in a box. Problem is, we purchased it in January this year. Will that affect any entitlement to a replacement/refund.

To tub salt in the wound I got this battery when I had a 6 x nectar points offer, which never materialised and despite numerous corresponce with nectar/ebay, still havent got the points

    tia for any replies :)

I don't know how specialised those batteries are gocat, but it won't help that you bought it in January, they would only have your word that you only just used it. If you check, with anything you buy that depends on batteries, the batteries are always excluded from the warranty. Did the battery have any warranty with it?

Another way of dealing with it may be simply emailing the seller asking if he has had any reports of faults on the batteries as you only started using it in June and it would not charge properly.

Actually, thinking about it, I would probably go straight to the manufacturer if I could, those batteries are incredibly important and they would surely have to know if there was any faults with the batteries.

Hello mhoc and sorry it's not possible to fit smart meters at the moment. There are a number of properties similar to yours where the existing meter positions are particularly challenging. As well as the improvements I mentioned to tweets above, we're also working on overcoming these difficulties so all our customers have the option of smart meters without the need to pay for any equipment to be re-located. I don't have a timeframe yet but we need to be able to offer you something by the end of 2020 so we meet the current rules.

Sorry again we can't help right now mhoc. We'll be in touch once we've sorted a solution. Don't worry, these meters are optional and you can refuse any offer if you believe it isn't suitable.
