Thank you - now a mass of indecision as to what constitutes the best value - wether its best to get the box of 20 in Sainsburys for £2.75 which would only be £1.25 after cashback ...
Or what would be good for a comparison shop ..
Possibly on wombles if you get lucky ...
It's simple - anything that costs £1.50 or less (after comparison) is free (or better), whilst anything that costs more costs you money. The best value is therefore the option that is free or better.
Calypso Jubbly Lollies £1.50 A vs £1 Sains?
(No point trying two vs M, to try to get M £1 each price (M 2 for £2), as that will cost you money on the second pack.)
The way I am reading it, it seems that you don't have to stick to buying one product but can buy several lollies that in total have a value of £1.50 or more on the receipt. If that's right, then you could buy a pack of Orange Lollies at £1 and SP lollies 65p - however that may not be too good bought outright as it costs more than £1.50 and you'd hope for about 16/17p APG back to be drawing even or making a profit. Orange Lollies should compare against M £1. I will double-check the price I have showing for Savers Ice Lollies as I seem to think they may have gone up to 69p although I'm also thinking they may be same price 65p. I have just seen them, but didn't know about any TCB offer that could apply to them so skipped over them yet again as, ever since S cleared out at 50p some years ago, and then I think price of 'value' lollies went up a few pence 'everywhere' but everyone keeping price-matched, price of more than 50p has been expensive. The TCB offer now makes all the difference and changes that totally.
I have gone to M therefore and, again, glad I did as they have made some manoeuvres (some strategic manoeuvres as everything in supermarkets is done strategically). I am supposed to be doing just a quick look in the fewer stores - and indeed my first store has taken me less time so I have some time available (which I'm now wasting on this when I should be using it to go shopping elsewhere). I don't know how I have two full sides of paper from what is not much change:mad:....
It does seem that the Bud Light, which went to £5 by last Wednesday, has gone straight back up. I thought yesterday that price is obviously too good. It seems that it has now gone to £9.40(!) and that, indeed, the £5 was too good, although that is only provisional as it is from just one store. (It could be that, because it is now in the aisle stock in my store, in other words the location of the stock has been changed, they've moved it and put a SEL there and it is initially full price until they change it soon. However, I do think it's very likely to have gone straight back up. It should work on the APG - however it was generally out at the store frontages in the Ms I had last time so it might not be found:rotfl:.)
I did not have any price for 6 pint milk in my store so had this as a carryover item (to the next M store). However, I can see online they have gone up although "only" by 2p to £1.50 (making them same as everywhere except A). A still not 10% cheaper of course and today's comparison will still be £1.48 M (assuming that they have been comparing against that already since last week).0 -

I'm trying to deal with 3 things at once & then some one rings & throws another dilemma into pit. We sort that out by going by car rather than train, Fourp enters room & states he won't go as hates the seat in car :mad:

I met the most remarkable lady yesterday. She knits hair for kids who have had chemo. How fab is that? She made 50 and took them to Alderhey and they told her that there were 4200 children in the UK that needed them so she has carried on crocheting them. She has set up a charity to raise money for the wool and she has other people helping her make them too. I don't know how to crochet but there's a knitting class in my town that does lessons so I'm going to learn.
If there's anyone on here who can crochet and is interested in helping pm me and I'll send you her details.
She met Jamie carragher last week as his charity 23 is helping her with her fund raising.
I am sending her the next signed man utd shirt we get although I did explain it could be 12 months until we get another one.
She was such an inspiring lady, she inspired me to book our next pub quiz when we met dd at the pub so for the locals its 21st October, pandoraskids I hope your daughter can make the next one I'll make sure FC gets her room booked again.
How fantastic Di - Sorry but I am useless at knitting
Will look forward to the next pub quiz - will try to get dd to come along this time too. Ds really enjoyed it, may have had something to do with the amount of large vodka's FC kept buying him, every time I turned round he had a refill :rotfl:Pandora's Little Sister 30/11/17 x0 -
My store tried to tell me that £2 gift card is only when SEL is wrong. I’m ringing HQ today.
I spoke to someone at CS on the phone and they were brilliant. A gift card is in the post and they are going to speak sternly to said store, especially as when I'd gone back to query it, having found the web page promising a gift card, the CS person said that because I had looked so surprised, she had checked with her supervisor.
I also said that this same store had refused me a gift card when the wrong SEL was under a product. They had honoured the price but said that the SEL did not relate to the product under which it had been placed so I was not due a gift card. CS confirmed that this was wrong and I had been due a gift card.
CS very pleasant and apologetic and horrified!!0 -
Do we know that on Sparks cards there is an auto opt in offer spend £25 get £5 off - ends today.
Not the most exciting offer unless you were doing an order anyway ...
The other offers eg I've got spend £5 on meat get £1 off ... finish in the normal 2 days“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
