Finally sat down. Made the mistake of harvesting the redcurrants and the gooseberries. Redcurrants will wait till tomorrow, but I got it into my head I wanted to get on with the gooseberries. I had to top and tail 800g of the things, then I made a gooseberry and yoghurt cake and some gooseberry compote, both of which are in the freezer. I also made some mini Victoria sponges to go with the strawberries, and then I had to make bread rolls and the soup for tonight.
My back aches now! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Woopsies were good tonight. No sign of TM. There were loads of vine tomatoes, vine cherry tomatoes and cherries. I have family for a birthday tea tomorrow so they will be fed them and also go home with some. The 2p lettuce was dated 25th as was 1 pack of cherry tomatoes. It cost less than £3 for everything excluding the ice creams.
These were reduced to £1.25. I ate 2 on the way home. They are nicest ice lollies I have had in ages. Glad I bought 8 boxes.0 -

Sometimes my ingenuity astounds even myself. Drill a hole half way through your fizz corks, then they make ideal toppers to put on the top of your bamboo canes so you dont poke your eye.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
