Is your brother worried that the care home has to be paid from your mum's money? sounds like he thinks its his right to have your mum's money:(

You are lucky if you can get onto Oldham hospital car park

Got it in one with bro and mum

    Good Evening :hello:

Had a lovely day not lasting me 6 hours from leaving house to getting home.

Got mums 2 hours 10 mins before appointment time :j

Transport turned up 45 mins before appointment :T

Off we go had to pick another wheelchair patient up on our travels so had a tour town centre she was going doctors with her friend

Gets to hospital and got seen nearly 40 mins late

Goes into room and 3 mins later had done.

Told mum she had had a bad break but it was healing nicely and could take 6-12months before she back to how she was before break .

Gets back to home and bro rings before I chance do anything so he having a moan about if home had said anything about mum staying there ,money ,going home etc. I said no. So he said well I suppose its down to us 2 then  Which 2 he not rang her or seen her :mad::mad:

Soon got rid of him after that.

Went into office in home and told what had happened at hospital and ask what happens next .

Got told mum needs to be walking better without 4 helpers they aiming for 1 and it will be awhile yet. So she staying there

No money mentioned and I didn't mention it .

    So will see what happens.

Sorry if you ask about mum and I don't reply but somedays I feel down and that no one cares but me . I don't mean you lot here I mean bro and home :)

    Hi Tweets,
If your mum is being looked after due to health/nursing needs then there is nothing to pay.

'Client Contribution' is required for social care needs, after an assessment of need and a financial assessment.

Don't take the care burden on on your own!

Look after yourself and, of course, Poppy.

    So True Bubbs!!

DS has been told that we are planning to spend any possible inheritance that he maybe entitled to!! I'm pleased to say that he is good with that, he knows he was well supported into adulthood and beyond............... and he is now earning a good salary.

Tweets, we care about YOU, so we care about what happens with your mum because that weighs heavily on you. As for your bro, well, he really should learn what side his bread is buttered on, he is losing a good sister if he loses you.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Private hospital for me a few years ago, and then again a couple of months ago supporting a friend.
On both occasions parked easily and free, coffee on arrival and an apology as consultant was running 5 mins late.

Mind you the private hospitals here are not town centre, so no 'none users' using them.

My consultant was wearing a sweater and 'slacks' and apologised for not being 'dressed' as it was his day off! In other words moonlighting privately!
Discussed the cost of a gall bladder op and as I wasn't insured for this he said save your money (£7k+, as if)) I'll put you on my NHS list, will be 3/4 months. 3 weeks later, booked in???
Nobody could tell me when I would have the op until his registrar explained, consultant was on general surgery duty that week, but he doesn't like his people to wait so was 'fitting me in'.

Was good for me but I question the principles of it!

I absolutely support NHS, but if I had the money I guess I'd go private.
