Having a productive day. Shopping done & was back in house for 9am, Kitchen all tidy and downstairs all dusted and tidy. 2nd load of washing in. Having a catch up and a cuppa before attacking the bathrooms. Blue sky is disappearing :( You can tell it is the weekend.

When I was in A this morning noticed this is still on 3 for 2. No really good comparisons:

Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc £8.98 £7.19 £3.48 Waitrose

JTS- pleased your results were stable.....no pun intended! ready for the guineas in a few weeks time:) but in the mean time not too much gardening, not too much sun and not too many sweet things..look after yourself :)

Thank you HILLBERN :A .....but I like your pun :rotfl:

Rain has stopped me gardening and taking in any Sun today, and I've resisted Barny Bear (so far he! he!) having my usual bowl of berries for breakfast.

Yes, looking forward to the flat season ahead - I see my namesake is running in the 4.55 Newbury today :D

    Hi Lala! :hello:
    Of course I remember!
Been telling all my stories from the good old times to (new ;) ) BF, he was well impressed and every time he happens to stumble across one of those 'extreme couponing' programs he asks 'is that what you've been doing?' Lol yep only better ;)
When I broke up with my ex most of my DTD stash(oh those Denby plates! Lol) was in his parents loft, I didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore so I was ready to write it off but my mum said no way! So she went there and loaded a car full and took it all! :rotfl:
I haven't really been bargain hunting for the past few years, I get my groceries from Ocado  but just finished my last job this week and looking for my next so I have plenty of time on my hands and started lurking :o went to Lidl last week with BF as part of 'we should try to spend less money' but it's not for me :o back to Ocado :o
Was going to do the Asda wine glitch but never did :o instead I'm going tee total for a month before our holidays in May, it's day 13 today and it was not easy with the lovely weather
    Anyway sorry for rambling :o
Lovely to see so many of the original Elite still here and hi to all the 'new' ones x
Hugs to all who need them xxx
Bf was encouraging me to join the Elite again, he has no idea what he is talking about, I tried to explain how it takes over your life lol but it's too late now :D

Just reminder these codes for £3 £5 expire the end of this month. Please use them.

Thanks BH. I'm in town to do just that!

    Good afternoon Elite.
Hoping everyone is warm (but not too warm), happy and well. Hugs to those not so.

I might have mentioned the calendar  :rotfl:
Didn't show him tho lol I have it somewhere on a hard drive still I'm sure ;) mind you he would need no convincing to pose for the next edition :rotfl: I remember it took me ages to convince my ex to put those 2p(was it?) pants on and let me take a photo :rotfl:

Ps. Yes same type of work :)
And I tried to explain to BF that being part of Elite is very addictive and he has no idea what he is talking about... especially as I'm an 'all or nothing' type of person and I tend to obsess about things... oh well, if I suddenly disappear again it's cause I was given an ultimatum lol

We havent got them yet. They have tickets but the whole family now wants to go to Florida so apparently they are going to donate them.

Snap I'm liking the sound of the silent auction, not quite sure how it would be organised, advertised if you know what I mean.

Di I used to do a silent auction every year to fund raise for a sports club.

We would ask for donated items and as they were donated we would fill a sheet in for the item as the heading with columns for people to fill in their bids, name and telephone number. It would then be displayed on a notice board. The last written bid at stated time an date on the sheet was the winning bid.

On the final day we would actually display the items with their sheets in front of them and make a fun day of it cake stall etc. Used to be amazed how many people would turn up if they were after a particular item as you could see the last bid we had a few bidding wars with me having to do a count down before the bidding sheets were taken away to prevent further bids.

We used to get anything from tickets to shows, gym memberships, swim passes, meals out, local attractions. Pamper hampers, wine hamper, bottles of spirits etc. Even had a load of girls party dresses once, one of the mums worked for a shop, obviously they had a good target audience with it being a sports club. But surprisingly we made a lot from good quality second hand items especially musical instruments, exercise equipment, unwanted electricals or games. I remember a second hand football table going for almost it's brand new RRP.

I think because people could see what others had bid nothing went for next to nothing I even started one year putting a minimum bid (bit like ebay) on the top of some items so the more valuable things went for realistic prices.

I was always worried that something would not sell but it all always did because people wanted to help the cause. Don't know if you can take any ideas and make them work for you. Good luck xx
