Thought for the day ... in an age of 24/7 internet banking, why do DD and SO payments not go through on a weekend and bank holidays?

Yes, I remember the major banks making a Big Thing of everything moving over to 'Real Time Banking' and carrying on about the advantages of it. I never really noticed any difference.

Then in the last few weeks, Nat West have been busy sending texts out saying that from now on it's all changed, and any funds due to be moving in and out over the weekends won't be processed till the Monday. I probably won't notice any difference there either.

Looking at buying a phone off Ebay, Xiaomi phones are not generally available in the UK, and a lot of Ebay sellers seem to be trustworthy on this phone, but getting annoyed with some of them, auctions running on phones supposedly available in the UK, but the business seller's address is in China! Really do not want to risk being saddled with large import taxes etc, and have heard this can happen in that sort of set up.

Have to admit, it seems the only thing against these phones is the embedded battery, but OH has pointed out that there has not been too many battery problems lately, there was that Samsung one a while back but that is it. He is encouraging me to go for it with the spec that it has.
