I'm sure I love my DW very much but this afternoon she decided to mash both doors and the front and rear wings of our car on a metal post that apparently jumped out into the road....it is no doubt a write off, I was hoping we could buy it back, replace the wing mirror and carry on using but she has really gone to town. both doors are badly bent not just scratched/dented so there is no economic route to keep it on the road. Value if we are lucky 1500, excess 400, value as scrap possibly 200-400 - I wonder if it is worth an insurance claim or just sell for parts on ebay and avoid the premium increases.

How is there so much damage michaels:eek:

DD was in an accident 6 years ago and her insurance company declared the car a write off. We took it to a local guy who said the car itself .....engine etc was fine and it was just the bodywork that was damaged. I know prices are different in the north...particularly if you know someone .....but we took the plunge and got the car done up and it's still on the road today.
