Both my sons have these, not quite as many though and in the same region. Older son has more than younger one.
I always thought it was stretch marks due to growth spurts or the like.
They dont bother them at all and have faded a bit.
Like Emerald said, I wouldnt worry although like you say I can imagine some teens may be self conscious of them.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

didn't find much today but then I didn't get much chance as till was busy all day! New star buy offers start tomorrow - carex handwash to 85p, but the best looking one is the sure mens and womens deo, half price to 98 and bogof according to the signage. All the perfumes are changing apart from the Rhianna fleur one.
the e45 dermo spray things have gone to 60p today in our store but they were reported last week.

good evening, Sarah I know you said they are not stretch marks but could you rub stretch mark cream or bio oil on to maybe minimise the look:)The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0

Had right hassle at adsa today. Firstly, out of the 4 self-serve conveyer belts, I picked the slowest queue by a long shoy. (I could not go to the one with no queue as it was card only, and trying to use cash only. After waiting for ages, I then was putting my stuff on the belt, and remembered I had no cash, so would have to use my card anyway, so could have went to the empty one.
Scanned, paid...and no receipt  Eventually, to the wonder of the confused person behind me I got the attention of a member of staff, told her, and she opened the machine and gave me it...was walking off, then thought I better check, it wasnt even mine, it was the slow people in front of me's receipt, theirs had not come out either. So turned round, and eventually I got mine from her, what a bladdy hassle this shop was, the 6 asti better work!!“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
