  • Good morning from a snow covered Lincolnshire.....

It looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better.....Not a good start to the first day of Spring.....

Red weather warning has now been issued for Devon, Somerset and South Wales....Stay safe peeps...

Last day to use up your stashes of old £10 notes too...They cease to be legal tender from today...

I live about 20 miles from the edge of that warning so hopefully they don't adjust its parameters

    Morning Nutters :D:D:D

    hope you are all well!

snow days most of the week- if I wasn't off sick I would be enjoying my school being closed:D

We have had over six inches of snow here in Kent.....so far....it's still snowing.....very pretty and very very cold.

I have been going for walks every day (fitbit whatsapp group- yes I am still doing it!)

In spite of the snow I am loving 2018 so far ......turning big changes (redundancy and having to sell house) into POSITIVE life changes:T:T:T

hugs to all - especially Di- not sure what's happened but OMG you are going through it

Hope they will be understanding, and good luck. Xx

My new job is not started yet, as after a break in years ago I never realised my documents where missing. Got a new birth certificate then they asked for marriage licence brought one from local registrar was meant to collect and they phoned and said records are still at church. Church is little used now only a service every other month and vicar was away. Managed to contact warden and caretaker and both say there are no records there. Have now spoke to vicar who also does not think the records are there but she will check. I will So have no idea what to do now I can't start work without it. Xx

    Rhos.

I have never asked for a marriage cert , but that does not mean I am right

I have read the requirement of eligibility to work on the gov uk website. You should take a look as nowhere does it mention a marriage certificate requirement but that requirement may be more to do with the nature of the job role

Thanks a lot , it's only in a high street store as a shop assistant. They say they need it to proof my change of name and are adamant I cannot start until I hand it in. Shall go and have a read now am so disappointed as was looking forward to a fresh start after my old job. Xxxxx

We have just signed up with Talk Talk. Will have to wait and see if we get a phone call from Virgin to make a decent offer, we can cancel with 20 days. Quite happy to go with Talk Talk, we know there are some horror stories but we know plenty of people that are happy with them. Plusnet wanted to charge £60 up front to put in a new line and we know how little goes into that especially as we have the physical line already in, this way if we do go with them we can swap after 12 months with no extra costs.

Anyway, the clock is ticking for Virgin .......
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
