Just looking at switching electric suppliers but I noticed something called a
Priority services register
There are about 30 different reasons someone might be on this list - worth taking a look as I can see several conditions suffered by Elite or their family.
Also a couple of temporary ones including
Post hospital recovery - thinking of Di confined to quarters when she eventually gets home
Not sure what this list is about but I imagine if there is a local loss of power they need to know who needs a priority service or if the metre reader is on his rounds he needs to know if someone is confined to their bed etc.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Anyway after managing to procrastinate about it for nearly 2 weeks I finally nailed myself to the chair and made myself sort out the electric supplier switch this morning - needless to say it was not as daunting as I though.
We are about to switch over to the standard rate with Scottish Power which is considerably more expensive than the fixed rate we have been on for the last year.
I did a metre reading to start with and then tried to do an overpayment using the Amex card but sadly that plan didn't work as they don't accept Amex
I had my annual figures with me and we are now with Eon again - it was only 3rd down the list behind one of the new companies and there is a small amount of cashback.
This is on the email they sent me - I think the decimal point is in the wrong place!
Existing Annual Spend: £12,345.33
New Estimated Annual Bill: £10,759.51
Approximate Savings: £1,585.81“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

its a good job you did say that. I rang them up and got it cancelled, I had the chap check my figures online and I had left it as monthly instead of annual
And then I started all over again and got a £170 a year saving - which is good enough.
We had been with Scottish Power for 3 years starting out at just £60 a month and now its £79 .... it slowly creeps up despite replacing old machines for energy efficient ones“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove.
