And happy birthday to midwinter. :bdaycake:

Broody cold here but just a sprinkling of snow that has melted as soon as it lands. Not looking good for the next few days though.

I feel I might die of embarrassment.

I’ve just had the very full story....while I was eating ....from Mr TM about our blocked toilet:eek:

He noticed a smell coming from the bathroom and went to investigate this morning.

    The toilet appeared blocked:o
He flushed but the water kept rising in the toilet:eek:

So he ventured out to the man hole and found it backed up_pale__pale__pale_

    I hope no ones eating:o

He then called on our neighbour next down the run to ask if he was having problems ....they checked and his was backed up too. They then went down to my lovely old jigsaw neighbour further down the lane and checked his. His manhole was flowing:rotfl:

Fortunately our jigsaw neighbour had rods and the 3 of them proceeded to clear both manholes.

The problem had been caused, they think, by the sudden cold spell knocking the face off the bricks in the manhole which proceeded to block the drains.

All my neighbours have seen the contents of our toilets and I’ve just had to have a glass of sherry to calm myself down:rotfl:

DD said it’s ok. Everyone has to poo and I will just have to get over it:o

You should be thankful for small mercies. Your neighbours have had to have a bottle of gin to erase the memory !!
  • Our manhole is the end of the line for our row of houses, used to get blocked up regularly, when we rodded it we used to find kitchen roll with hearts on it, of course no-one used it but strangely enough, when a neighbour's daughter moved out it stopped happening
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
