Just realised that the Hermes man has pulled a fast one on me. He banged on the patio door - I think he must have been before and I signed for a big heavy lumpen metal thing wrapped in black polythene - Errant son is always sending for bike bits so that's what I thought it was.

Only afterwards did I realise that it was for next door and not us - next door are out of course. Of course Hermes man realised this and thought he would chance it and bring it here - if I noticed that it was not for us he would have asked if we could take it anyway ...

Hopefully Errant son will be back before long and then he can drag whatever it is around to next door ...

I've just been trawling through Mysky and looking at my incoming emails online - I cant actually see the Spam emails - only online so every so often I have to trawl through the dross and find anything that sky have put into spam by mistake.
Sky have been putting my Freecycle messages into spam and even worse my twitter messages - that explains a lot

I was looking for a message from the 11th which I found thankfully and it solved a mystery

The weekend we went up to Eldest child's big birthday bash I booked a couple of nights in a Premier Inn - I'd dithered about it for too long and in the meantime the room rates had gone up but it could not be helped. It was £154 for a Friday and Saturday night  - Friday night was originally £39 when I first looked earlier in January, my own fault.
We were not going to actually be in York itself that weekend so I didn't see any point in booking one of the travelodges or premier Inns in town - actually with all of the hen and stag parties York is a big raucous at the weekend and we tend to avoid it if we can. Asides from which the hotel rates on a Saturday night are horrendous - even on the outskirts and then you have to factor in ubers, taxis or parking etc.
So we booked this Premier Inn on the outer ring road that we have stayed at before and at least it was a bit more off a spend off the American Express target spend. Even though it is off the ring road its quite tucked away and reasonably quiet.

On the Saturday afternoon when we were getting ready to go out we had a huge banging on the room door in the corridor and no one there when OH went to look - kids messing about.

At 3 o'clock on Sunday morning people coming back from a night out where talking and joking and laughing in the corridor outside our door and later there was door slamming - I screen shot the time on the ipad.

You are supposed to inform the desk but as there are no phones in the room that would have meant getting up, dressed and going to the desk etc and not anything they could do anything anyway.

So on the Monday I filled in the form online to make a claim. I had the auto response email back but nothing else. By day 10 I was getting concerned so I then messaged PI via twitter on the 14th. Eventually they got back to me to say it had all been processed on the 11th - hence why I was trawling back through the spam emails to find the one that came from the customer service team.

They have refunded me one night and £99 went back into the American express account on the 11th so the 2 nights came to £55 in total :T

We have stayed in several PIs over the years, specifically because we can get no disturbance and even though they are generally a bit more expensive - first time we have ever had any problems.

Been following FB regarding a dog dumped in a neighbours garden over night...

I think the owner has now been found & the witch hunters can put out their flaming torches...

    Nice day :)

Is it 'copy image address' that you use? Just having a play about now. Also Duckduckgo works.
