Have decided that , even though they will still want a DVD on afterwards, we are going to read to the dgc when they are in bed next time we babysit.
Admittedly we don't do so very often, even more reason to "accidentally" change their routine
Their mum was trying to get them to eat dinner when we got home, they were still going when they went out. We switched off the tablet, and the telly, and amazingly enough they then ate their dinner. How can kids be expected to eat with so many distractions
We have trouble saying anything, mainly because the other parents are totally the opposite to us, so it would rather but a rift where we do not want one. We will simply do things our way, as we do when we have dgs in the week!
I don't think they have the lounge bugged :eek:
Have you tried the 'nanny' way?
When nanny takes you to bed, we have cuddles and one story. If they say no and want the dvd, just say fine but I will miss the cuddles and special story time together (looking really sad). Or just insist that when nanny is looking after you, we do it my way! My DGC get three stories at home, I will only do one - the reason being a bedtime story is one story. They weren't too keen at first but now they tell their parents that when we have a sleepover nanny does it different to you and we get more cuddles!0
