Just shopped around.
I am a SSE customer
Quidco giving £60 CB (ends today) for boiler AND heating cver with annual service.
SSE customers get £40 credit on energy account
2 months free.
Normally £216 a year
2 months free £186
CB £126
Credit £86 for 12 months, = £7.17 a month, obviously depending on CB coming through etc.
So "saving" £130 for the year. :T
Sounds good - we signed up or BG option 4 which seemed to work out at £106 for a service and cover in Y1 after CB and quidco.
However our boiler has stopped working properly (2 months outside its 5 year warranty) and the guy from BG came out and said the condensate drain and pressure relief valve discharge don't meet standards and need a 200 quid rework if we are to be covered by then - slightly annoying as they were all signed off as complaint when the boiler was fitted just over 5 year sago - it seems the rules can be interpreted in different ways depending on the commercial advantage....I think....0 -
Did anyone try Cafe Rouge / Bella Italia and the £20 droids and any other discount yet such as the 20% off? ThanksI think....0

We are being walked over, we pick up dgs twice a week and deliver him home too, and ds is having a tattoo done, six hours of work whatever that costs, and has said that if we have any work on a Saturday he could do with the extra money. So he expects us to babysit for free, pick up his son twice a week and deliver him home for free, and yet he expects us to pay him for any work (which he will NOT be getting). He has always been awful with money, he has booked something up soon that is way over the top and he cant afford, asked if he could use my credit card (did not happen but if it had he would never have repaid).
I hadn't realised how much this annoys me before now :eek:

2/ Was it the housing association he was with at the address before he bought or was it a private sale?
3/ If tarriff was paid by housing association, it would be the housing association that he owes money to, as they paid the charge?
4/ Depending on answers to above, I just need to know if he just took over from someone else or set up himself or had it already and bought the house.
Hope this makes sense, need to know who is possibly the one who made the "error" and maybe liable for the outstanding amount.[/QUOTE
sorry I haven't made the situation clear..its clear to me but probably as clear as mud to others.:rotfl::rotfl:
its a new build apartment block which he took out a mortgage as 1st time buyers 4 1/2 years ago, with no other previous occupants in his apartment.
Housing association families also live in adjacent blocks but not in his block of apartments.
No one has paid the money - its outstanding - and has only just come to light0 -

New build. So not his fault, obviously he did not claim to be anything apart from the owner. Sounds like an error by the power company. He should ask for a paper copy of his agreement, per freedom of information etc. If they cannot find it, they cannot prove him liable IMO. If they find it and the discount is there, possibly their error, so not his fault, would be worth fighting.
So, do NOT allow him to accept fault, always get him to say "IF xxx xxx xxx", "POSSIBLY xxx x x xxx" Calls are recorded.
If everyone was missed, surely it is not everyone's fault, must be power company.
Also eventually may be worth going through small claims court and claim against them. So tell him to send a letter/email that stipulates the price of his time and cost per mail etc. For example £15 per hourt, minimum one hour for his time, £10 per paper letter etc etc.
He needs to also speak to housing association about this too.
And as always, be polite, calm and assertive. He sounds like he will have a defence. Just make sure he keeps all correspondence and for phone calls make sure he asks for paper copy, due to his memory impairement.
