  • May I ask, does anyone here make their own kefir? I’m taking goats milk kefir, but it’s relatively expensive.

    Can’t plan a thing recently :(

Had unexpected trip to hospital last night, was in most of night. Now school has just phoned saying DD has been sick and needs collecting :(

JTS, sorry to hear of your hospital visit, hope you're Ok now.

I have been making kefir for about a year. I've tried goats milk, normal full fat cow's milk, semi skimmed and skimmed and my preference is full fat. When I started, when I strained off the kefir, I washed the seeds but now I don't bother. I love it on porridge with some fruit. If I have too much, I make a smoothie with it. Hope that helps. Enjoy! :T:T

Pah, thied to quite about the nicotine stains.
If you get stuck, try vinegar and baking soda solution.

Morning all hope everyone is well.

Good news day but it's a secret so no telling anyone. Ds2 passed his final 2 lorry tests this morning. So now has a lorry licence and it means he will get a proper contract with the council instead of a zero hours. So proud as never realised he had to do 5 tests and only had one fail which he passed on second try. Considering he is badly dyslexic I think he did really well. :T:T

    Good morning everyone.

I made it my aunt years and years ago, but unfortunately she has passed away, so I have had it back, and she smoked a lot :rotfl: it is very heavy nicotined stained.

I will give it a go soaking it and using WUL.

    Thanks

Be careful with water heat, and I recently ruined a huge shawl that was over 100 years old covered in embroidery flowers and birds, and totally beautiful but also had nicotine stains. I put it in what I thought was hand warm water and all the colours run, and I was gutted. Xx
