Eighth Anniversary 10,000 Posts Combo Breaker
Lots of site problems. Edit button now only available for 30 seconds after posting. Cannot post more than once every 2 mins. Deleted threads all throughout the forums....the list goes on !

This is "interesting" - I'm glad I came here, to the currently last page of the thread, and saw this otherwise I would not be knowing what was happening. I have, of course, been using "Edit" for the M list and unfortunately I think this very much puts paid to the whole list:(. It doesn't seem that I had anything further to delete, as expired items, in the information that I had yet to get to - however I think I would have deleted the Cadbury Party Mix, due to not knowing what price M has gone to, if it still has this product (what do you mean, Savvy? If it still has... what, you do not know?:p) as A went well up in price and M could have followed suit (even though it was constantly £3 on the occasions when I did see it). I would also remove the Tommee Tippee Thermometer at RTC £8.50 as that is a little old - I have another TT Thermometer now at £30:eek: and possible they could get mixed up.

The list is therefore up-to-date, except that I have seven pages of new items to add. Without the edit button, it will not be happening. The only way I can see of doing it is to copy and paste and add each item in and repost the post it's in. This would mean reposting each post after every additional item, would clog up the thread with a hundred versions of each post (which I then could not delete as well over 30 seconds would expire) and I don't intend to do this. Of course even if the list could be completed, it would then have to be reposted as a whole, as the original posts could not be edited, and would now have to wait two minutes between each post when reposting!

In answer to my own question, yes the settings have changed! Why?? That makes no sense to me as I often go back and edit any typos or errors. You also cannot therefore delete after 30 seconds without contacting Admin?

The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 0.5 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message.

Alternatively, I would have to contact the administrator to be able to edit to add each individual item, as more than 30 seconds would have elapsed, thus I would be contacting the administrator hundreds of times throughout the day, every minute or every few minutes, each in respect of each individual item - I'm sure they'd like that and that would go down well:rotfl:.

In short therefore, I think it's pretty much over for the M list now. It's a shame - I wish I had been told this was happening beforehand instead of spending two days collecting items that I now can't add. However, things come to an end and I will move onto something else now:cool:. What I could do this time is post small sections or lists of items that I needed to add. However, even if that was done, there would be no way of getting them into the original list and then not able to go and re-check that next time. There seems to be no way - I have thought about creating my own website or having the information posted somewhere externally - if anyone has any ideas or can provide a link from this thread to there, and then maybe do it as a link from this site, I would be very grateful.

I also have "thoughts" about the inability to edit after 30 seconds and, therefore, as stated, presumably the inability to delete your own posts - my thought is regarding excessive information (information that is 'excessive to the purpose') and how this would comply from the POV of data protection. If you can't delete your own information...? (I suppose the answer is that you can delete, but have to seek permission from the administrator.) It also shifts the burden onto us though - I'm sure we all say, and write, things that we almost immediately regret but if we post something now in error, we may be unable to change it speedily and thus potentially making us liable for something we can't now delete by ourselves. I think I will just go away from the site forever now:rotfl: - don't want to be saddled with legal liability.

No, I may pop in, very very carefully - doubtless I will regret any minor spelling mistake I think of after 31 seconds from the post - these things as you know are highly important to me - but I can deal with that as just having to be left - but I don't see any way of doing the M list on here without the full use of the edit button. If anyone can think of any way or wants to contact the administrators to tell them of the impact the change has had - one of us does a shopping list helpful to money-saving that is now unable to be amended and updated - I may occasionally still go to M to get details of prices but only for my own shopping and won't be able to post any list on here anymore or update from any previous one.

You can use the M list, for now, as it is in date - just woefully incomplete of numerous items whose details I have with me and can't post onto the list...

If there are any errors in this post, they shall now remain uncorrected.:)

Those I bought earlier in the year on CoS (around pancake day?) are 10/18 expiry - bottle says use within 3 months of opening. However, I doubt anything much can happen to it unless it spills/splits?

I'm not saving anything for a rainy day, really whats the point.

We have customers who come into work who have rings they are too frightened to wear so they are locked away in a safe and are got out once a year when they renew their insurance. Safest place for them is on your finger.

We've had a lovely weekend with dgd, dh has just taken her home.

So its a nice roast for tea with a bottle of champagne, not quite as flash as it sohnds as its a twine but it will still taste good :beer::beer:

Let's not let the b@stards grind us down

JTS, LEJC, 3dogs, cjj. ...........just doing my role call and I hope you're all okay.

This is exactly what she said, so every day use it is:D
Glad you had a good weekend with dgd:T
