just realised ive been missing a trick with the yogurts :o

as im overloaded with wombles most weeks. if i have multibuys in asda, it means i can put the difference onto a gift card.

yogs cost 68p each = £8.16 but cost on multi £3 so £5.15 could be getting put onto a gift card. as i pay almost the entire shop cost with wonbles i find this very handy to do. i think chrisv also does similar at times

Hi zippy :) yep, put a fiver on xmas saver - yogs £3 and pay with £8 apg :)

yes aallank, it will work for as long as the 12 for £3 off is on - just need a decent comparable offer from whichever store you are targeting :)

The new Amex rewards card arrived today!

Not convinced that I am going to spend the target amount in 3 months - I've got another coal bill to pay next week. Plus I still need to do some research and decision making to replace the dead dyson and I was thinking about the Sharks that were discussed a few weeks earlier. So that's a start. If need be it might have to be some gift cards if Morrison will let me pay for them with this card ...

Now don't I wish I'd ordered this Amex rewards card a couple of months back - this months credit card bill is gobsmacking - it was the bill after the Android pay month but those spends were just normal shopping split into one item shops.
This bill had the 2 garage bills on, cattery fees after the hols, bill for the on board spends, an Amazon e card, 2 tanks of petrol, new specs and the coal bill - I would have been more than half way to the target Amex spend.

Despite the fuzzy head I manage to apply for the Amex rewards card today - I re read the instructions on the Head for Points page and then I emailed the owner, Rob who sends you a link so you get extra amex reward points - very quick 5 minute job :j

Now don't I wish I'd done this months back when we were first contemplating small shops and talking about credit cards in general. I could easily have reached the target £2000 in a couple of months.
Apart from coal bills that is the only big bill going to come up now in the next 3 months ...

I've always used my nationwide credit card which was a cashback card but the cashback is being halved in January. I didn't earn that much cashback as it was over the year but now it wont be worth anything so it was time to think about using a different card which would have a better incentive.

I pondered on balance transfer cards for the balance on my Nationwide card and I got a possible approval from Virgin money but then I thought there is nothing to be actually gained from doing a balance transfer ...

I have to stop myself buying rubbish from Amazon from China. The chocolate moulds I ordered back in October have finally arrived after 10 weeks - if you look on Amazon now it says delivery in a week :D
I think I even had a refund on this order as we though it had gone missing en route

I then bought a heart shaped white fluffy rug for about £1.70 last night but regretted it straight away - imagining all sorts of nasty insects living in the pile - fortunately there was time to cancel the order this morning

I did though get one of these little card cases for about £1.70 - rubbish quality but all I wanted it for was to keep all of the various loyalty cards I have but rarely use eg Body shop, Ikea family card, Monsoon etc - at least then they wont be bulking out my purse so it wont shut and I will know where they are. It will only be opened about half a dozen times a year and it looks quite neat and solid and will just live in the bottom of my bag.

I am thinking though that the people on the walking challenge on their long expeditions into the woods and fields walks, these would be very useful - you could just put inside a credit/debit card in, some emergency cash (and a copy if your prescription for dire emergencies) - it would go neatly into your inside jacket pocket with your phone - no handbags to worry about.

Hi lou :) I usually give the SA my saver card first and ask them to put on whatever amount I want putting on - then put shopping through - then pay with the apg price match coupon.

ps, don't worry at all about spelling etc, there's no grammar police here lol, just ask if anything is not clear :)
