Has anyone managed to keep a chart or an excel of their everyday housekeeping spending for the whole of 2017?
I started doing this properly - mainly as a guide to giving me exact figures for if/when OH retires - and working out what is a manageable amount for us to live on
I've managed an entire year :T - tomorrow will have a look at the figures to see if there are any areas that could be improved.
so far groceries are a prime candidate- our household increased by 50% in April but even so the average weekly spend just on food for humans (not cats, birds or foxes) (not added in this weekends spends yet) but its averaging out at £45 a week (sadly there are never any good yellow labels or RTCs locally)
(multiply this by 52 - gobsmacking figure)
Sadly yes mhoc. I have a spreadsheet for the past 2 years down to the penny. It's interesting to look at comparisons. Like you, I have already identified areas which need too be reduced.
Good evening Elite.
Hoping everyone is warm, happy and well. Hugs to those not so.
Looking forward to raising a glass (although it may be a mug of tea!) at midnight to our Elite family and absent friends.
Thank you all for your help and encouragement through another year.:T:A“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

Just popping in to wish Marigold all the best, condolences to all of Sal's family. It's a lovely photo of her.
oh and also to mention the glitch at W on the batteries is still working- the larger packs are going though at 2 for £5.
Happy New Year to all at the Elite, I will try harder to keep up in 2018, need to save some money seriously. :j0 -

She wasn’t a lady for fuss but I’m sure she would have forgiven us for wanting to honour her memory in this way.

Her funeral will take place on the 9th January and it will be private. Her family have suggested that we could perhaps remember her in our own way by raising a toast that evening to an incredible lady who will be missed so much:A:A

TrulyMadly wrote: »Buy the large Heinz Beans and sausages in multiples of 5.....so 5 or 10 plus fillers. Target T or M and they will cost 7p a tin:) Remember that 10 is the maximum that will compare.
Heinz large spaghetti and sausages, Ravioli and Spaghetti bolognaise also work which will reduce the number of fillers you need. So once again a mix in multiples of 5 or 10.
Check the multi is showing in store ie 5 for £3 before you buy.
Don’t forget to post your shop:)
So sorry for the late reply x thank you for the heads up x I have been resting and making cards so didn't get to go out xbroke my back doing glitching

Alternative to that would be go to to the likes of Argos, Ikea etc. and try and get one to take away today.Marigoldsal wrote: »Thanks so much! I’m not sure if this is the photo Sal posted 2 years ago, but I thought it would bring a smile.
