I’ve tried twice to write this but keep welling up.
Sal has been on my mind a lot lately. I’m sure lots of us have been worried. She hadn’t posted or logged in for a while and I was fearing the worst. Only minutes earlier I’d messaged marigold for news:o
Sal was just the kindest and wisest lady you would wish to meet. She was like a real friend to me and many others on here and I feel so very sad to have lost her.
I know she was so appreciative of the support from her sisters and the love and care they gave her. What a wonderful family:A
I’m so pleased her little cat Pip went before her....she would have worried so:o

Sally died yesterday at 7pm in Martlets Hospice after her battle with cancer. She had been so very brave and had made it very clear she wanted to go - we will miss her dreadfully.
A few weeks ago she asked me to let you all know when she died as this thread has been a huge part of her life for years. A fantastic hobby that kept her mind active, her body fit with walking, and her bank balance healthy. She hasn’t spent a penny on groceries etc for 5 years and has left us with enough tins, jars, toiletries etc to last for months.
She truly valued the friendships she made on here, and although she found talking difficult, just about her last words to me were “Anything on the thread this morning” !
Best wishes to you all
Saddened to hear this, but just the way Sally wanted it. She did so much for us on the thread and was loved by all here. My thoughts are with you and the family xxThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -
I was just reading back through sal’s posts trying to find a conversation I’d had with her and realised that the last thread was wiped out:o
It didn’t seem important then:oTo do is to be. Rousseau

How are you all?
Thanks, yes especially for dd2 she has a special bond with him, his mum was a one of 2 rescue ponies she sadly was to poorly to survive the birth but left a tiny brown foal, and we hand reared him dd2 at 3 used to give him bottles he was meant to be rehomed but she loved him to much so we kept him. The other mare was fattened up, and oh trained her to ride then was rehomed. the foal was called cocoa but I never knew Welsh mountain ponies are brown at birth then moult outhe was actually white but the name stuck. He is now in a stable with a hot feed and plenty of best hay, we will just see how he gets on but he is old. At least he is warm and comfy.
We are all well thanks another week then I am job hunting. how are you. xx0
