Afternoon all - bright and sunny here and 10 degrees :T
Eldest child is at her in-laws for Christmas this year - first time ever as normally she is home. I was a bit worried that it would get into her head - that she had always been home for Christmas apart from one year when she was a student and working in a hotel - but she seems to have enjoyed it.
They have a very traditional Christmas with a set pattern. Boxing day the boys sit in front of the TV and watch football for 6 hours
OH was having a rant about this - rather amusing as he will be sprawled out on the sofa for about 10 hours today apart from periodic kitchen visits and loo breaks - OK he is not watching TV, at least not until this evening, he is either listening to music or a talking book or sleeping. His excuse will be that he has man cold“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Afternoon all
Seriously disappointing sales
Asda Very few RTC sweets Kinder eggs and toffee
Wilko Very few RTC sweets
Sainsburys. No reduced paper or cards  Bought 6 boxes for biscuits as DH like to give biscuits to his suppliers during the year I just leave him to it
I will pop out again later and see if they were just slow to put SEL on0 -
I felt like getting out in the garden, so I tried to find the wasp nest in my compost bin, turned out a quarter of it in the area I expected to find a nest, which is a fair bit considering it is a massive compost bin, went through the rest of it and could not find the nest! Strange, considering the number of wasps that were going in and out. Did find some saw dust at the entry/exit point so maybe they could have been after that, there was a not insubstantial amount went in there a year or two ago, maybe that was attracting them and there was no nest?
Still, guess I will find out in the spring, if it gets active again I shall have to distribute the compost around the garden and find it by totally emptying the bin. Wrong time to distribute it right now, have a lot of cutting back and pruning to do, not to mention weeding :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Good morning. Happy Boxing day. Been to sales and came back with very little. Asda were reducing gift sets to 75% off, but thought that was a little expensive:rotfl::rotfl:Last year would have stocked up. Got a few boxes of chocs for pressies as loads of date on them - Black Magic £1.50, big Milk Tray £3. Sainsury's were reducing all turkeys to 75% off. Same with their decs - got some nice luxury cards and a decoration for DD for next Xmas. Was tempted with the turkey crown but walked away as no room in freezer.
Managed my family cards for half price - that is what I went for. Came home and had spent less than £25, of which £11 was wombles, £6 gift card and only £6 was actual cash. Happy with that.
In our S the turkey crowns had been RTC 75% off on the sel to £12.50, then RTC yellow label to £4 .
I just timed it right and have managed to squeeze a couple in the freezer for New Year and probably Easter if we resist until then.
A must have cleared a lot of gift stock as very little left.

New queens hibernate over the winter and start new nests each spring. Because they do not come back to their old nests, you can remove a wasp or hornet nest and keep it without worry that wasps will return to reclaim it.Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...
