How to entice birds into garden?

Remember to split your treats between hanging feeders and on the ground if you can. Some birds like dunnocks and sparrows are mainly ground feeders so will miss out if everything is in a hanging container.0

I made some fat balls on Saturday ... block of lard, bird seed, grated apple and mixed fruit.
Very well received this weekend by the birds ... even if I did have to keep going out to brush off the snow.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness

I think that I've posted this before but during this very cold weather I place lit night lights into large pickle jars which are unlikely to be blown out or knocked over. Stood in birdbaths or submerged aquatic plant pots they melt the ice and hopefully provide some access for birds and other creatures. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
