Classic Shell (http://classicshell.net/) might be preferable to Win 10's menu
And you can delay updates by using "METERED CONNECTION" - which you are effectively on in any case..
This should only be considered once you have downloaded huge updates at the library first.
Turning this on fools Windows 10 into thinking you’re on a non-broadband connection (i.e. accessing the internet via a tethered mobile) and delays downloading and installing updates.
To turn this on, click Start, and type 'Change Wi-Fi settings'. Hit enter. Click 'Advanced options' and toggle 'Metered connection' to on.
This only works if you’re on a wireless network.
If you are on Ethernet connection, the option isn’t available.0
