    If you are going to choose to follow a lifestyle/practice that means you dont want to eat certain foods then it is totally down to you to check the ingredients. Otherwise labels would be totally covered with things like Not suitable for vegetarians ,vegans,Muslims , Jews , Hindus , etc etc etc

    True but I don't think the manufactuer should be held resonsible if they didn't state either way.

    from the retailers/manufacturer point of view.


    It makes the consumer buying experience more easy.
    Thus if eg ASDA does not give much detail, but Tesco does.
    The veggies will shop at Tesco instead.
  • I think the complaint is the "Not suitable for vegetarians" isn't clear enough not that its not marked.

    Some markings could be clearer or located better, ie directly under the ingredients although from memory the co op, not suitable markings were close to the ingredients on the desert I previously mentioned.

    Sometimes if you're in a hurry or not reading closely enough you can miss the 'Not' part, I know I have in the past.
