I found newbies thread so confusing, I have bipolar and am unwell right now so please help me with simple advice please....my brother tried read it too and he couldnt find what to do, i have had this reply to my appeal to Brittania parking, In short, I parked over two hours at an out of town shopping centre having genuinely no realisation that there was any charge...what makes it worse is my friend and I were there for her birthday and we spent £100 andf had coffee etc so we were shocked and saw no warning signs, although I havent been back to check....,i sent an appeal based on forum advice but got this letter back

Thank you for your appeal received on 19/09/2017 regarding the above detailed Parking Charge Notice.
We have reviewed the case and considered the comments that you have made. This appeal has been
considered in conjunction with the photographs and any evidence provided. Our records show that the
notice was correctly issued as your vehicle was parked in breach of the Terms and Conditions of the
Car Park.
Please be aware this is an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) controlled car park. A camera
photographs your entry and exit and times this against the 2hr maximum stay allocated to this car park.
We are members of the British Parking Association (BPA) and we follow their Approved Operator
Scheme, Code of Practice at all times. Section 13 – Grace Periods, details that we must give the driver
a reasonable period of time to read the terms and conditions on the signage and to leave the car park
after the parking contract has expired.
We have a 10 minute grace period at this car park. After 2hrs of parking, if the driver has not left the car
park by the time the 10 minute grace period has been reached, a Parking Charge Notice will be issued,
for breaching the terms and conditions of the car park.
An online copy the Code of Practice can be found by visiting:
https://www.britishparking.co.uk/Code-of-Practice-and-compliance-monitoring
Our car parks are regularly audited and our signage at this car Park has been approved by the BPA.
We meet all the requirements for our signage as advised under section 18 and 19 for England and
Wales or Section 28 for Scotland, of the BPA’s Code of Practice, in regards to signage and notifying the
driver of the terms and conditions.
Please be aware that you have been notified under paragraph 9(2)(b) of schedule 4 of the Protection of
Freedoms Act 2012 that the driver of the motor vehicle is required to pay this parking charge in full.
You are warned that if, after 28 days, the Parking Charge has not been paid in full and Britannia
Parking do not know both the name and current address of the driver, we have the right to recover any
unpaid part of the Parking Charge from the registered keeper. This warning is given to you under
Paragraph 9(2)(f) of schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and is subject to our complying
I have tried reading the rest of advice on forum but it is too much to take in, please please can someone, no sarcasm please, tell me how Im supposed to rreply and do POPLA appeal?

Assuming you followed the advice in the Newbies faq thread and just sent the blue text appeal then you need to edit your op to remove details of who was driving.
Also if that number is unique to your appeal edit that too!!
The Newbies faq thread does give detailed advice on constructing a popla appeal.
Await your popla code, and in the meantime start researching your popla appeal.0 -
This was the appeal I made :
19th September 17
Dear Sirs
Re: PCN No. 6128560
I challenge this 'PCN' as keeper of the car.
I believe that your signs fail the test of 'large lettering' and prominence, as established in ParkingEye Ltd v Beavis. Your unremarkable and obscure signs were not seen by the driver, are in very small print and the terms are not readable to drivers.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. You must either rely on the POFA 2012 and offer me a POPLA code, or cancel the charge.
Should you obtain the registered keeper's data from the DVLA without reasonable cause, please take this as formal notice that I reserve the right to sue your company and the landowner/principal, for a sum not less than £250 for any Data Protection Act breach. Your aggressive business practice and unwarranted threat of court for the ordinary matter of a driver using my car without causing any obstruction nor offence, has caused significant distress to me.
I do not give you consent to process data relating to me or this vehicle. I deny liability for any sum at all and you must consider this letter a Section 10 Notice under the DPA. You are required to respond within 21 days. I have kept proof of submission of this appeal and look forward to your reply.
Yours faithfully,
I have popla code, what do you mean research? I am sorry if I sound dumb I am seriously unwell right now, been in hospital, if I cant get an answer today I will have to pay this even though I am on disability benefits, I genuinely saw no problem parking and had no idea about 2 hour maximum,,,,, how do I know if i have any case at all, I dont want try fight if there is a chance this will fail....please someone help me????

You haven't edited the information in your OP as advised in #2.
That is your first priority.
The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you0 -

You did manage to understand which appeal to make, and there aren't pages and pages in the FAQ on popla appealing!
Is today your deadline for the popla appeal? If so get on with finding something from the templates in the FAQ and send it in. Don't waste your chance.
This isn't a new experience for you.
How did you get on with your earlier pcn:
