Mortgage ppi rejection

we were told on the phone yesterday that our mortgage ppi claim has been defended with TSB, we haven't had the letter yet outlining the reasons ( it was apparently sent 10 days ago ) and we were not told on the phone the reasons why.
We were told we had to take mppi to have the mortgage by the advisor in branch it was never optional, we weren't asked any health questions ( my husband is an asthmatic takes daily inhalers including a steroid one ) On top of this we also had a seperate mortgage life insurance policy that we paid monthly premiums on also with tsb and we had six months wages savings in the bank plus would have been paid 6 months full sick in our jobs at the time. Does anyone think we have a case to take this further with FOS

You can try but if it was a condition of the mortgage it was a condition and non negotiable.
