sky high car insurance due to moving to a new build house

I have moved into a new build home within the last month, my son then passed his driving test, so I have been trying to get insurance for him to drive our car.
the quotes were coming back at £2500 - £3000
I had an idea for some reason to check what it would cost if we lived in the street opposite that has been there for years and the quote reduced to £1200
is there anything I can do or how long before the quotes will drop
thanks in advance

The portion of road opposite you compared with, does it share the same postcode as your new home?0

No it's a different postcode0

The established street will give the Insurers a claims history. Your new street has none and Insurers will have quoted on a worst case scenario.
£2-3k sounds right for a new driver anywhere!The man without a signature.0 -
its only £1200 on the street about 200 yards from my address
how long before the quotes will drop?
has anyone experienced this ?0 -
They should drop each year until he reaches full NCD (assuming no claims/no convictions/no notifiyable illnesses etc)
(That £1200 does sound very cheap for a brand new licence holder - are you sure there was no error in the application?)0 -

Not really - my lad got his first car last November and his first insurance cost him £1370, it really depends on, well, all the factors the insurance co's take into account..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
