Buying floor wipes! Good grief

    **hangs head in shame**

I can't even remember why I bought them but I had a couple of packets in the cupboard. I have a mop, I think it's a Vileda SuperMocio Microfibre & Cotton Mop which I bought for my cleaner to use, I've never used it myself. I don't think it can be put in the washing machine.

I have an e-cloth mop (I think it was marketed as for bathrooms and tiles but has since changed its name, maybe a mini mop or something like that). I have two of the microfibre heads so they go in the wash with other kitchen cloths after use. I'm trying to move away from microfibre for environmental reasons so I won't replace them when they die, but I also use the mop handle with cotton prefolds (flat nappies) and it works really well. If it's just a daily mop kind of thing, I don't wash it after every use but they can be boiled if necessary, so good from the hygiene POV.

I didn't realise there was an environmental issue with using microfibre before reading your post (I have since Googled it). I assumed that as you were only using water with the cloths it was better for the environment. You learn something new every day.

I have an orange microfibres mop thing which I bought from b&m and loved. The problem is that the Velcro bit that holds it on is not holding properly. I’ve made sure there is no fluff in the Velcro.
Any body got a clue how to make the Velcro bit sticky again as I hate using the thing now but can’t justify buying a new mop.

Rosie could you not sew some elastic on the mops and then attach round the head?

Thanks Wort. Sometimes it takes someone else to point out the bleedin’ obvious! That’s why I love this forum.
I honestly couldn’t get my brain into gear to figure out what to do so had just stopped using the mop and got annoyed every time I looked at it.
