How do you clean yours?
I have a mop & bucket but I think mops are pretty manky things. I have a Vax steam cleaner that a I hardly use. Maybe I haven't really given it a fair go but I prefer using those floor wipes because I only have two small pieces of vinyl flooring to clean in my home.

I have the same two small areas as we are in a flat and hitherto used floor wipes, they are pricey though and what with a cat, dog and husband traipsing through from outside I used loads
I now have a Vileda spray and mop, it's small, light and easy to use and I don't have to get down on my arthritic knees to mop. I fill it with warm water, a squirt of washing up liquid and a half cap full of zoflora, jobs a good 'un and I don't have a mop and bucket laying around. I have a spare cover so don't use the same one for kitchen and bathroom. I've seen much cheaper versions in some discount stores but can't vouch for them. I think I paid about £17 for mine so I hope it goes the course.
ETA: the mop head covers are washable and I disinfect them so no worries there either.:money:0 -
I'll check out the Vileda spray mop. After all this decluttering I'm hoping to become a flylady.0

I have always found it difficult to keep traditional mops clean. I had a floor cleaning revolution when I discovered the E-cloth mop (mine was from Lakeland). I have two cloths and throw them in the washing machine when they have been used. Makes a really good job with no effort at all.0

I'll second an e cloth mop. I use kettle boiled water, ring out with rubber gloves on and it cleans my laminate without over wetting, and dries really quickly.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0

I have carpet in the lounge and bedroom, and carpet tiles, which can be steam-cleaned, in all the other rooms. Any very mucky tiles can easily be lifted, washed, and replaced when dry.
Due to extremely painful feet which object to even having slippers on them, I go barefoot at all times at home, and carpet/carpet tiles are a lot warmer than stone tiles/lino/laminate/vinyl flooring. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I have an e-cloth mop (I think it was marketed as for bathrooms and tiles but has since changed its name, maybe a mini mop or something like that). I have two of the microfibre heads so they go in the wash with other kitchen cloths after use. I'm trying to move away from microfibre for environmental reasons so I won't replace them when they die, but I also use the mop handle with cotton prefolds (flat nappies) and it works really well. If it's just a daily mop kind of thing, I don't wash it after every use but they can be boiled if necessary, so good from the hygiene POV.0

I have cut up an old toweling dressing gown. The squares are first used as dishcloths, when they become a bit smelly they are downgraded to floor cloths. I wash my hair in a bowl in the kitchen sink, and use the rinsing water to clean the floor with, adding a few drops of wash up liquid. After first sweeping the crumbs up, I get down on my hands and knees and wipe the floor over with the cloth.
Buying floor wipes! Good grief

The vileda mop, the one that spins in its bucket. Best I ever had0

I tend to avoid using soapy products on vinyl flooring, as it can make the floor sticky and it gets dirty again quickly. A bit of white vinegar in some hot water seems to work well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I have the Vileda Easy Wring - the mop head comes off and goes in the washing machine to be cleaned.0
