Lloyds Credit Card - Plevin

Hi All

Have lurked for a long time but thought I would join up and share my experience with a Plevin complaint on a Lloyds credit card.

Was invited to register a complaint following a letter from Lloyds. I duly did so and received a acknowledgment stating they would reply by the 8th of November.

Received the decision today and the complaint has been upheld and I would be receiving a refund of the ‘unfair commission and profit share rate’ portion of the PPI (plus 8% interest)

What I found interesting was the breakdown of the % commission and profit share rate. The rates changed overtime but were in 85%, 93%, 100%, 76% & 79% ( the 100% part lasted for over 2 years ! )

Refund will be paid directly into my bank account within 28 days 😀

I have sent back a form from HSBC for exact same thing, did you have much on the card? I know you might not want to share how much you go back but it would be nice for others and myself to know roughly. Was it in hundreds or thousands. How long from registering your complaint did you hear from them?

I have held the card for over 10 years. For a long time there was indeed thousands on the card and sometimes as much as 5k ( luckily I had my LBM a few years ago ). My refund is just over £2.5k. From their acknowledgement of my letter (which was a week or so after the invited me to write if they thought I had a complaint) it has taken a little over 7 weeks for them to make a offer (so within the 8 weeks promised}.

Good luck with your complaint although its possible the % commission for HSBC could be very different to Lloyds so you may not want to rely too much on my result.
