Are the safety issues - gas or electric - not the same : saucepan handles and hot surfaces ?
Yes they are.
I have an induction hob, and the installation instructions say 190mm clearance either side and 60mm at the back. Also, isolation switch should not be positioned above or behind a cooker/hob such that someone would have to reach over the appliance. It is recommended that the switch is at least 300mm from the hob and no more than 2m.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
When we moved into our house we ripped out the kitchen and survived with a temporary kitchen for around a year I think.
We bought a combination microwave and a small double burner hob thing and installed it on an ikea freestanding island unit.
It worked perfectly well until we'd knocked several walls down and had an extension built. I think you might well save money using a similar approach & buying a better cooker solution when you have the space0 -
I'm 4 years into living with a temporary kitchen... I'm hoping to have the funds/time to replace it next year. The existing kitchen was so disgusting it had to be ripped out. I've got a second-hand freestanding electric oven & hob, a few tables with crates underneath and a random selection of shelves on the walls.
OP - try freecycle for a temporary cooker while you plan your new kitchen and save up for the things you really want.0
