Cracked Basin from Bathstore

I spent about £1.5K with Bathstore in one of their stores back in August this year and they delivered in early Sept. However due to me being out of the country and my builders not checking the goods upon delivery, we recently found that one basin has a fine crack after we opened the box. Because it's outside of Bathstore standard 14 days replacement/refund window, they refused to replace the unit.

Am I right that I'm entitled to ask them to replace this basin as long as I had this product for less than 6 months according to the Consumer Rights Act 2015? What if they continue to refuse replacement, there's not much I can do right?

Thanks for any advice.

You seem to be blaming your builders for not checking it. If you asked them expressly to do so, I’d be holding them accountable .

The answer to both those questions is - yes.

If you were out of the country how do you know your builders didn’t cause the damage?
  • well, we opened the box together. But there is a possibility that they damaged it while moving the boxes around in the house, which I think is less likely...
