Vt pcp

Hi guys sorry if this has been mentioned loads of times before!

I have been to SEAT today to sort out a new car, I can VT my fiat 500 in February. I haven’t said yes to SEAT placing the order for my car yet as I want to make sure I know the ins and outs of VT!

When is the best time for me to send my VT letter? I would be picking the new car up in March.

Is it easier said than done when trying to VT? I’ve read a lot of different things and some have seemed to have gone smoothly whilst others are still battleing with the finance company! I’ve seen that Fiat FCA charge £70 to collect the vehicle?! Are they allowed to do this?

I’m just trying to get my head around it all! As I don’t want to say yes to SEAT for them to order my car, if I can’t VT my current car without loads of hassle

Thank you 😀

Not enough information. How long have you had the car? Have you paid 50% of the purchase price (not just halfway through the agreement)? We can’t see your agreement so don’t know what you have signed up to, they are not all the same. Are you within your mileage? Is there any damage to the car?
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I’ve already spoken to the finance company and they told me that my VT is the 1st Feb. I am under the mileage and I’d say there is usual wear and tear. The only thing that stands out to me is a 1 curbed wheel and lacquer peel on another.

It’s 50% of the TOTAL AMOINT PAYABLE not purchase price.

You say that you have a PCP in the title which usually means that VT is only possible very close to the contractual end date.

Further information is required - dig out your loan agreement and post all the information.

Of course they are, it is a cost they have which I guarantee will cost them more than the £70 they charge. If £70 is such a big issue can you really afford to get another car on finance?

No it is not a big issue, however I know that other finance company’s do not charge this.

you do know you can trade it in with the new dealer, with no vt or charges
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Probably trying to avoid negative equity?

Yes I’ve got over 2k of negative equity, already got the settlement quote and how much my car is worth. Which is why I am going down the route of VT.

You say its a Fiat that you are going to VT but you are hoping to get another Fiat. Are you thinking that you can VT your existing car then pick up a new one on finance (from the same finance company)? If so then you will be in for a shock.

OP is looking at at Seat not Fiat.
