PGCE application sent!

Well, my referee got my reference done yesterday so now the form is done, paid for and sent
I'm keeping everything crossed now! My referee said the application looked strong, so I really hope I get to interview. My only worry is that I am in a very Welsh area and only speak very basic Welsh, though I am learning (slowly!). Anyone else applying this year?

Hi linzibean,
I have just started my PGCE, but am doing it by the flexible route so will still be studying next year!
Which course have you applied for? I am doing Secondary Maths! xGone ... or have I?0 -
I very nearly applied, but decided not to instead, though it's something I'd like to do sometime (I'd do biology).
Best of luck, linzibean!0 -
Hi, I finished my PGCE in July this year so if you do get a place I may be able to answer some PGCE related questions for you. Best of luck!0

I've just started secondary science this year.0 -
Good luck!
I've just started PGDE in Adult Literacy.
Be prepared for a hard slog- I've been there 3 weeks including one orientation week- and have already done 2 presentations, 2 x 1000 word essays, 35 worksheets and have a folder full of notes!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
thanks all for kind words
I've applied to do Lower Primary, as that's where my experience is and I love teaching the littlies
I'm prepared for the slog, I've always kept myself busy through my degree and work afterwards with side projects and research that's meant I've always been writing, researching or planning something or other
I've had my welcome letter through from the GTTR so the uni is lookign at my application. Fingers crossed I'll hear soon!

Thanks for the offer Pavlov - at the moment I'm very basic (I can greet people, tell them where I live etc - just like GCSE stuff
) but I need more for if and when I go into schools. I'm using the BBC ausio lessons which are actually pretty good, but I'm thinking of doing a week intensive course when I'm a bit more proficient to get my conversation better.
