Point blank refuse to move in until they have sorted it!

Trust me, once you are in the property, it's a lot harder to get them to come and fix it. The house should be perfect for when its time to move in.

We had neighbours who refused for three months to move in until everything was sorted, and that included ripping up all the flooring as it was bulging like that.

The floor needs sorting out properly. It's a bodged job and that's the most likely reason why it's creaking as well. Personally, I'd be worried if they tried to sort it out by removing and re-laying a few boards because that's more likely to end in yet another bodged job.

Get some photo's of it for yourself, if you haven't already.

I took a gif, again it doesn't look as bad, BUT you can definitely feel a bubble when you walk over it, and it creaks throughout the whole living room/kitchen.

We cheekily asked them to allow us to view the other flats on the same floor, it was quite evident that other flats on the same floor did not have an air bubble issue, but some creaking (but not as bad as ours).

(if someone could post, that'd be great - thanks!)

Sorry, I think they just took it down, never knew it was timed lol.

May be hard to see, but when you walk on it, you can be sure that there is a section of the floor that sinks in as you step on it

Its not an air bubble. Its likely the floor has expanded after being fitted. Easiest solution is to trim the edges of the floor although this is likely to involve removing the skirting and redecorating after refitting.

Job done, lets go home. Have you seen the van keys?
  • Have to agree, definitely should not be accepting that. The builder/developer will also know that another buyer would not accept that so I would insist they resolve before proceeding any further. Good luck

    Wrong pic Norman! ^^

This is the actual flat flooring:giphy.gif

The picture I posted was just an image I found online that represents that problem or is similar to it.

I can finally add it myself! Yay
