SP-SSE -10.00 monthly saving.
Hi mser’s
I’m considering switching from Scottish Power to SSE
(Electric only E7)
I’ve run online quote using 2016/2017 readings from SP.
Slightly disappointed -best SSE quote is 64 per month DD/paperless.
Is it worth considering saving a tenner on a 1yr deal with SSE.
Are SSE known for raising costs after year 1.
Anything else I should consider before I switch online.
Notice I could get 5000 nectar points-that could mean paint for flat next year.
Thanks in advance MSER’s

Tariffs are constantly being withdrawn and new ones issued. In particular, over the past 12 months, there has been a large increase in the cost of electricity. Personally, I wouldn't be seduced by cashbacks or Nectar points. Do a full market price comparison to make sure that you are looking at the cheapest deal. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'm not sure there is any MSEer who would turn their nose up to saving £120 per year for exactly the same product.
5000 nectar points is worth £25 - you may be able to get a possible £12.50 cashback for switching supplier via the CEC, more if you use another CPW suggested by MSE
If money really is that important to you, then I feel sure you could get an even better deal altogether if you looked at the whole market via a CPW (and still possibly get some cashback)
Whatever deal you switch to will either be fixed for the term, or variable.
If fixed, the price will not change for the term; if variable the price may change at any time (on notice)
At end of the term, the fixed price no longer is available and you will have to pick a new deal. If you don't, you will be moved to the suppliers standard variable tariff (which is often their most expensive one)0 -
Thanks mser’s
I’ve delayed my switch decision.
Almost forgot I’ve SP warmer home discount hopefully in progress.

Yeah I’m not a fan off price caps.
Think i’ll Watch if any SSE/NPower merger new customer offers arrive.
Interesting article.
Patience required as I forgot I have SP warm home discount hopefully in progress.
I haven’t yet used electric fire or bedroom heater yet though the time is fast approaching!
As SP DD went to 75 monthly I need to be extra careful when 2017 ends and don’t want to begin 2018 +75 if I can manage.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0
