Natwest mortgage process

Hi all,
Would really appreciate some advice. I'm a single first time buyer and very much lost in trying to navigate a mortgage application.
I have made a reservation on a property and have an AIP from natwest. The advisor said that I would have to show proof of my deposit when I make my full application (I'm just waiting on confirmation of the HTB equity loan which should all be kosher). However i've read over the threads and see that this is usually done via the solicitor. Please can someone confirm either way if this is the case as I have mortgage appointment and at the moment can't demonstrate those funds. The remaining will be saved in the next few months,
Many thanks for your time,
CS
