Virgin Atlantic from Manchester

Anyone flown from Manchester to Orlando on Virgin Atlantic lately. I have noticed from other sites that the experience may not be the best these days. We are travelling in Premium Economy in the next few weeks, so any thoughts would be welcome.:D

Sounds OK to me, would the charter airlines' premium cabins be any better.

We have flown that route, albeit a few years ago now. I found the route better than the other Virgin flights I have taken, and certainly better than and charter!

Do the MAN flights have the new Premium Economy? If so, it looks lovely x
    Gone ... or have I?

we fly this route every year and wouldn't use any other airline. have already booked mine for next year
  • Only problem I found was that they only have one plane - if it develops a fault your stuck probably for 24 hours or more until they can lease another aircraft.
With their base in Gatwick they have more leeway.

Weve done Manchester to Orlando on an number of occassions and certainly prefer to to Gatwick (our worst flight with VA was Orlando to Gatwick).

As far as planes, we noticed there are two flight into/from Manchester next may when we go to Orlando again.
  • we got back yesterday flying with monarch.the flight was very good. plenty of leg room.both flights arrived early.they have a lot of upgrade seats on this route.we got a good price of £250 return from the monarch web site.
it flys into sanford just outside orlando.

If one has a fault, you won't be able to travel on the other as there will be an airport full of passengers waiting to board the other flight.
  • Hi there,

We go with Virgin every year and never have any problem in economy.
The food isn't bad for airoplane food and they seem to be bringing something around every few hours, drinks, meals, ice lollys.

We sat in the row behind Premium economy this year and it did look ok in there, I was pretty envious because when I use to fly on business I used to always go business/first class, now I'm just a sad and not so affluent lady who will fly in the hold if I have to just to go on holiday ! lol

We only have problems when we come back, we have problems checking in online and we use the Disney check in which is a very good idea, but the check in staff are pretty incompetent and always seem to lose our seats and wind me up.
Have already booked with them for next July, join the flying club and get points, this means free flights if you collect so many miles or just use some miles and cash for a cheaper deal.

Have a great time, we always do !
